I told you I wouldn’t leave you hanging too long before I revealed the second component of Carson’s Big Girl Room. Missed the bedroom show and tell?? You can read that post here.
Next up, the bathroom, otherwise known as the water closet, which I prefer AND sounds a bit more elegant, so let’s just stick to that terminology for now… get ready to take in more brightly colored and print happy cuteness!
You know this gal has a thing for wallpaper and a special eye when it comes to putting it in a water closet. Not sure why, but I guess any excuse to spruce up an otherwise “boring” bathroom is alright in my book.
Last year, I stumbled upon this Clarke and Clarke Globetrotter Wallpaper and instantly fell in LOVE with it. The whimsical design, the world’s most celebrated monuments as the backdrop, and of course the fact that it came in pink had me sold, so I waited patiently for almost three months for it to arrive from overseas.
The finished product is just as fabulous as I dreamed and it livened up this otherwise classic white bathroom, which made me giddy to continue to decorate.
Next up, I sought out the assistance from The Shade Store to design a custom roman shade for the single window. I wanted it to be youthful in design, but still functional, and a relaxed roman shade totally made sense for Carson. Plus, she absolutely went gaga over the green zebra pattern so it was a win for mom AND daughter! If you’re looking for a less expensive option in terms of custom window treatments, I would highly recommend The Shade Store’s services… they make it super simple to execute, will gladly ship swatches to see the fabrics in person, can send you image ideas based on YOUR actual space, fabric preferences, etc. We then scheduled one of their technicians to come out and measure the space to ensure a perfect fit and once the drapery came in, they came and installed it in under an hour.. a completely easy process that was easy to execute, fast, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the end result!
Onto other details… let’s talk bathroom vanity design! We actually purchased this Classic White Console Vanity a few years ago when we wiped out the former bathroom’s furnishings and have kept it in place because it’s just that… simple and understated, and it goes with everything. But then I just had to add a pop of color so I incorporated some fun hot pink and gold agate door pulls to add a little flair and it definitely pops a punch!
I also opted to use Carson’s former nursery drapes as shower curtains and I love that they look a bit more tailored and “finished” and the coral colorway is a great contrast to the bright pink in the wallpaper… we also ordered this abstract Light in Dark Framed Print, which serves as the perfect decor for the longer wall. Minted nailed it again with the matte brass frame, which I LOVE.
Finally, we topped the room off with the best in linens and storage essentials from Annie Selke, my favorite destination for all things linen, storage and rugs that are anything but boring. The Round Navy Stripe Storage Hamper is great for stashing towels and the Green Square Bins are the perfect accessory for storing linens, extra tissue paper, hair dryers and other necessities!
Don’t forget to take a peak at all the other fun, decorative accessories that make this little space truly unique… hope you’ve enjoyed this little tour of our little nugget’s bathroom [ahem, water closet]… full links to sources below!

Will you adopt me? I’ve been a silent follower for many years; I enjoy your blog! But after the bedroom and bathroom reveal, I had to comment with my silly question.
This is beautiful! Obsessed with the wallpaper. Can I ask where you got the framed art? I love it.
