Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!! We’re leaving on a jet plane (and yes I am singing this song as I write this!) to NEW YORK CITY AKA THE BIG APPLE!! Could I be more excited?? Absolutely not… I’ve been counting down the days until I was able to return to my favorite city and I finally have my chance this weekend. A big thanks goes out to my boyfriend, Jeff, who made this trip possible — talk about a superb birthday present!! I am one lucky girl =)
Being the planner that I am, I have our entire weekend mapped out and typed up, just so that we can see most of the touristy places since he’s never been to NYC. I’m even letting him have the window seat on the plane so he can experience the overwhelming excitement when you see the City as you descend into JFK. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed he enjoys the hustle-and-bustle of Manhattan as much as I do so that we can continue to visit often!
Among our many destinations, here is a small showcase of places we’ll be visiting:
The Waldorf Astoria — not only will we be seeing this historic hotel in the heart of New York, but we’re actually staying here!! Located right on Park Avenue in the Midtown, we are close to everything!!
Empire State Building… the Platform Observation Deck is one incredible sight to see!! You can see the entire island of Manhattan and it is truly breathtaking — hoping Jeff will be OK since he’s not a big fan of heights (sorry babe!)
Central Park… I could go on for days about my love with the park! Though we won’t have enough time to savor every inch of the park, I plan on showing him Belvedere Castle, the Conservatory Garden, the Loeb Boathouse, and Strawberry Fields
The Metropolitan Museum of Art — we’ll be touring the museum and I am UBER excited to see the newest exhibit they have this summer which is all about fashion, photography, and haute couture!
The Guggenheim — Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed museum, which
houses an enormous amount of modern and contemporary art
Among the four restaurants I’ve already made reservations for, we’ll be eating brunch at my favorite place in the city on Saturday… Norma’s at the Le Parker Meridien — they are FAMOUS for their french toast, belgian waffles, frittatas, and most importantly, their freshly squeezed orange juice — Oh I’m hungry just thinking of it!
I promise to take LOADS of pictures with my NEW CAMERA!! And I’m hoping for at least 1 celebrity citing so I’m keeping my fingers crossed… I can’t wait to come back next week and show them off –I’m sure I’ll have some
interesting stories to share, too! Also, please keep us in your prayers as we travel this weekend!!
