Last night was the night I had
patiently (err… not so much) been waiting for for so long!! My favorite Broadway musical is here in Nashville at TPAC and my Mom and I decided to treat ourselves to a girl’s night out to celebrate the festivities… we had originally seen the play when I lived in NYC and we have been huge fans ever since! After all, The Wizard of Oz is one of my all-time favorite movies and the background of the story sets the stage for what happens when Dorothy’s house lands in Oz. After all the anticipation and waiting for the touring company to make its way to Memphis, Atlanta, and Chicago (and countless others), my wish was granted and it came here!
I have to admit, I was a little skeptical, thinking that it wouldn’t be as good as the Gershwin Theatre in Times Square and that the production wouldn’t be as elaborate, but I was completely wrong! It was better than I had remembered and of course my Mom and I knew all the songs since I’m a nerd and own my own personal copy of the Wicked Soundtrack =)
If you get a chance to see this show, I promise you won’t be let down– so much fun for grownups and kids alike (as long as they’re older than toddlers… those flying monkeys can be quite scary!)
Here’s a picture of my Mom and I dressed up for fun!
My Take Home Souvenir From the Show… Yay!!
