For those of you that have said you care about fitness tips and workouts, I am going to start a weekly update on where I am for my 1/2 marathon in April… for others who don’t, I promise not to focus on this too much and turn into a “crazy running person” like my roomie said-haha!
This week, my goal is to run a total of 11 miles–here is the breakdown:
12/28 – rest {I ran 4 miles yesterday so I will go ahead and give myself a free pass today}
12/29 – rest
12/30 – Hard Run: 4 miles @ 9:50
12/31 – rest {with the holiday, I need to celebrate} =)
1/1 – rest
1/2 – Easy Run: 3 miles @ 10:30
1/3 – Medium Run: 4 miles @ 10:10
**I created this training schedule based on my individual needs online at
Runner’s World… if you’re thinking about training for any type of running event/diet and exercise plan/etc., register online–it’s free and there are so many helpful resources to help you get started!
And here is my weekly tip: I always eat fairly well throughout the week, but when my weekends roll around, I pig out like food is going to disappear– here are a few quick fixes:
-
Work out on the weekend {even if just one day}
-
Watch what you drink… choose lower calorie options like light beer, wine, and stay away from sugar-packed concoctions like margaritas and martinis
-
When eating out, plan what you order BEFORE you go–check out this
website which gives caloric info for hundreds of restaurants
-
If you splurge, go all out for one meal and then get back on the train!
