What a weekend… it’s almost as though I think my fingers may fall off from all the painting we did at the new house these past few days, but it was all worth the sacrifice because we are completely finished painting–yes, we painted the master bedroom/closet/bathroom, 1/2 bath, office, formal living room AND the bonus room/finished basement {with some help from hired painters-hehe} and we are done with all things color.
Talk about draining… Jeff had “no preference” with the choice of paint colors I chose, which left all decisions up to me–oh geez, thanks honey. Though I am really happy with the finished product, I had my moments of doubt, but I love the finished palette we chose and I think it will look beautiful once we actually have furniture moved in.
And believe it or not, we actually made time for a little bit of shopping–OK a lot of shopping–thanks in part to my Mom for all her assistance. We racked up at
Pier 1 and yesterday and bought our kitchen barstools as well as our living room rug! Then we made a little trip out to
HomeGoods where we stocked up on bathroom necessities for the master as well as the 1/2 bath, too… a lot of progress made in a little amount of time, but I am exhausted!
The McKinley Counterstool in Brown Espresso Leather {on sale for $129 each}
Floral Sunset Tufted Rug {on sale for $249}
Of course we just HAD to run by the house and put everything in place to see what it looked like and I loved it even more… I think Jeff is beginning to see just how budget savvy I am when it comes to decorating =). You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on your home furnishsings as long as you take the time to research what’s out there, and find great items on sale!! Although I do believe I will be splurging on a few must-have items so I may have to take this statement back at some point…
Speaking of, a big huge THANK YOU to some of our friends for their thoughtful housewarming presents–I have the best friends:
Ryan and Rachel got us a KILLER Calphalon knife with sweet little cocktail napkins
and Meg and Aaron fot us this UBER fab cheese marker set from Pottery Barn
Happy Monday friends–back to the gym tonight though my legs definitely got a workout this weekend and then it’s The Bachelor finale–like most people, I know who wins, but I’m hoping we’ll get a shocker twist and he’ll pick Tenley!!
How exciting! I'd love the name of those painters!
I spent my weekend the exact same way! We painted our kitchen, den, bedroom, and master bath Then spent all day Sunday buying new things to go with the new paint colors! đ I got a fabulous rug at HomeGoods – LOVE that store! And I too, was the sole-decision maker when it came to the color palette! I 2nd guessed myself for a minute too, but then the finished product was exactly what I pictured! đ
I am also hoping for that shocker-ending tonight!
Happy Monday!
Love your new rug…it's so colorful and cheery!
Me too! Tenley is my favorite!
I can't believe you got the entire house painted already! It will take me months after I get to finally move in to our first home before painting! But congrats on getting it all done and I love, love, love the rug!
Please, please give us a sneak peak at some of the house? I am so excited to see what you've been up to. Your blog is one of my top reads of the day. đ
Oh painting your so lucky! I am waiting for our day to come but for now it's the backyard. If you can get your boy to make those PB knock off's your gonna save a TON! đ
I love those cheese markers! Can't wait to see pics of your new pad đ
Cute gifts from your friends! You worked really hard this weekend! Decorating is so fun, and I think you chose some great things for your place đ
Wanna come on over to my house? Ah ha ha.
