With spring here, it seems that exercise and eating right are on everyone’s minds, and I am no exception. Case in point–
Kelsey’s topic this week:
I wish’ …. I had the willpower to
stay on one particular diet,
From Medical News Daily: The Zone Diet aims for a nutritional balance of 40% carbohydrates, 30% fats, and 30% protein each time we eat. The focus is also on controlling insulin levels, which result in more successful weight loss and body weight control. The Zone Diet encourages the consumption of good quality carbohydrates – unrefined carbohydrates, and fats, such as olive oil, avocado, and nuts.
Celebrities who swear by the zone include:
Jennifer Aniston
Demi Moore
and Sarah Jessica Parker
Most people, I assume, would say low carb. Well for me and my love of all things bread and pasta, that is just unrealistic… my parents maintain a low carb lifestyle and splurge on vacations, and that works for them, but cereal is my love and I refuse to give that up–haha!
To be honest, I am not really a “diet” person–meaning, I don’t really stick to 1 program {Weight Watchers, Atkins, etc} because it’s hard for me… rather, I stick to the motto “Everything in Moderation”. For me, it works because I am allowed to treat myself to an ice cream treat or pizza, but I only do it every once in awhile and I am constantly keeping exercise as part of my daily ritual.
Speaking of, I started the 30 Day Shred today and WOW–Jillian gets down to business early, doesn’t she??? I think I can handle her, but I’m not going to lie–those were the longest 20 minutes I’ve experienced in awhile. While I won’t be sticking to the program completely, I’ll be using the DVD on days I don’t run or visit the Y so it will definitely help my cause.
Have a HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!
Love your blog đ
Never heard of the zone diet.
I love doing workout DVDs plan on doing one in alittle bit or maybe run outside since its beautiful!
I love Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, it's a tough workout but so worth it when you think that it takes less than 30 minutes. I have gotten to level 3 and I honestly find level 2 the hardest. Keep it up and enjoy. By the sounds of it we are all thinking alike with bathing suit season fast approaching. đ
Good old Jillian she does get down to business. Zone diet must work because those ladies are looking mighty fine.
What do you think of the 30 Day Shred? I've heard that if you're in good shape, it won't do much for you. I'd love your opinion!
I love the 30 day shred! I do it 4-5 times a week and I have already lost 5 pounds!
I need to get the 30 day shred!
Everything in moderation is my motto as well!! It works best for me!
