What is wrong with me you say?? I haven’t done an installment of Fashionable Friday in quite some time, have I–sorry for stepping back from the world of shopping a bit, but I am back at it today and I am hear to talk about my favorite topic… DRESSES!
I have been on the hunt lately for engagement picture dresses, dress for friends’ weddings and showers, and sundresses I can wear to work–to say that I have added a few to my collection would be an understatement, but let’s face it… dresses are SO easy to wear: to work, out for leisurely shopping, to church, and you can dress them up for a night out with the girls. Plus, it’s the only outfit where you only have to pick 1 garment out so it takes less time in the morning to decide ‘what am I going to wear today?’… trying to justify here if you can’t tell =)
Here are some of my favorites out right now for summer:
Max and Cleo White Sleeveless Dress {yes I bought this one!} via Dillards
BCBGeneration Striped Belted Dress via Dillards
Painted Silk Bridget Dress via JCrew
What is your favorite “go-to” item?
Well, it’s finally here…Friday has made its debut ladies and gentlemen. Jeff surprised me this morning and told me he bought tickets via my favorite movie site
Fandango for us to go see Robin Hood tonight…oh Russell Crowe in an action/love movie–yes please!
Then tomorrow, the big day of wedding dress shopping commences–my Mom is ready with notebook in hand to write down all the nitty-gritty details and I have a feeling Meg will be taking some sneaky pictures so friends can see our finds. Sunday–pending the weather–will be spent staining our newly finished fence and then working to get someone’s bachelorette party invitations sent out =)
Happy Weekend friends!! Have a great and relaxing weekend…
I love the J.Crew and Modcloth dresses! Have fun wedding dress shopping too! You HAVE to post pics of what you try on!
I forgot that I wanted to leave you a few tips for dress shopping (I am planning a march 2011 wedding and just found my dress 2 weeks ago). 1)Bring earrings. If you think you might want big earrings, bring some big one's you already own or small, etc. Even though they were not THE earrings I will be wearing, it really helped finish the look and changed the way I felt about each dress. 2) Bring Spanx. Seems silly, right? But I forgot to bring them on my first shopping trip and could not get over all of my "less than perfect" parts showing in potential dresses. And 3) Veil. If you like a few of them, try them all on with the veil… that how I knew… when I put the veil on, I became a bride!
GREAT LUCK!!!
Cute dress pics! Dresses are my go-to items as well. I especially like the Swan Boat Dress and the J Crew Painted dress.
Have FUN dress looking/shopping this weekend!!!
Have so much fun wedding dress shopping, hopefully you won't feel beat down like I did!
Trying on dresses so exciting…I have a friend who lives in Nashville and owns a place called StudioWed, you should check it out! It's a one stop bridal store, amazing!
LOVE those!
That Max and Cleo (1st dress) is super cute. I bought it as a potential rehearsal dinner dress.
I really like those dresses. I love the subtle colors mixed in with patterns and textures this year!
