Finally, I have had time to detox my body from this weekend’s fun wedding festivities and after a grueling morning workout and too many cups of coffee, I am back in business and ready to give you the full recap that so many have been requesting… and yes, my apologies upfront for the length of this post, however I wanted to share each and every single detail with my lovely blogging friends and this is a COMPLETE picture post so you can see all the details!
And So It Begins…
Thursday afternoon, Jeff and I packed up the car and headed to Knoxville to kick things off with the Alcorn’s. Bob and Marie {Meg’s parents} hosted a small dinner for close friends and immediate family and we were happy to get to see everyone and get the party started! That night, we headed to Downtown Grill and had a few cocktails before Meg and I headed to bed early since we had so much to do starting Friday morning.

P.S. have I mentioned I love having girls-only sleepovers with my friends before weddings?? So much fun and we get to talk all about our excitedness—definitely a must!

Friday, Meg and I walked to the downtown YMCA to get our last workout in, and then headed to get ready for the Bridesmaids Luncheon which was held at a small boutique restaurant called Echo… wow, so much fun!! We had mimosas and different courses of tastings including appetizers, soups, and salads, and then had a chocolate trifle mousse for dessert=everything was wonderful and if you’re in K-town, you must check this place out!

She then let us open our gifts, which included wood jewelry boxes {love it!}, flip flops to match our bridesmaid dresses so we could dance the night away at the reception, earrings and a bracelet to wear on wedding day, handwritten cards, and then she got both of her MOH’s—Mary and I—pearl earrings with small diamonds in them, which are gorgeous! So sweet of her to get us such thoughtful presents…

After lunch, we headed to Sequoyah Nails to get our final gift…pedicures! After all my recent running, my poor feet were in desperate need of some TLC and it was great just to relax with all the girls!
That afternoon, we slipped into our rehearsal attire and headed to the church to have the final run-through, which was a complete success! We followed our orders, got the ceremony down pat, and we were out of there to meet their guests at L&N Station for the rehearsal dinner.

After we indulged in too much food and drinks, some of us from the wedding party stood up to say a few words about Meg and Aaron and gave lots of cheers to a successful marriage… then it was off to socialize with everyone and a fun night out with great friends!

Saturday morning, Meg and I slept in until 9AM—yes, you heard me right!! That seems really late to both of us so we were thankful to get some real sleep for a change, even though we were both giddy with excitement. We ate breakfast, finished last minute details that needed to be wrapped up, and then headed to Barnes and Barnes Salon in Market Square to get our hair done and her makeup applied… a few hours later, we looked great and headed back to get our dresses to head to the church!
Once we got to 2nd Presbyterian, all of the bridesmaids got dressed and helped Meg with her gorgeous wedding day ensemble… all of her “something” items as well as her sixpence and waited for the small summer rain shower to blow over before we went outside to take pictures. Then it was go time! We lined up in the bridal processional and got the ceremony into full effect—and just like that, Aaron and Meg were pronounced husband and wife!!
Meg and Hurt
The ceremony was beautiful… a great message by the pastor, a gorgeous rendition solo of The Lord’s Prayer, and Candice’s and Rachel’s readings were perfect! Afterwards, we took the rest of the full bridal party portraits and then headed to the trolley for some champagne and trouble mug game playing—which, by the way, is SO MUCH FUN!

Once we arrived at the Knoxville Museum of Art for the reception, we were all introduced and got the real party started! Meg and Aaron danced to “You are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontague for their first song, which was adorable and so heartfelt. You could tell they were elated they were finally husband and wife and were on top of the world… then they cut their cakes {soooo tasty} and basically the rest of the night we all spent dancing and singing our hearts out on stage to one of the best wedding bands EVER!!!
