Wow! I’m officially back from an amazing weekend getaway with the fiance, and I couldn’t be any more rested… I feel like a new woman! Not only did we have incredibly perfect weather {75 and sunny the entire time}, but we managed to sleep for at least 9 hours each night and def had a nap or two in between lots of yummy food, garden explorations, late night smore cookouts, and a little bit of golf and football thrown into the mix to keep the boy happy. Here’s our recap:
Walking to the Resort
Happy as can be
Our fabulous suite!
The bathroom complete with clawfoot tub!!
Our sitting area!
Some of the gorgeous grounds
The Rice House where we had an incredible and very romantic candlelit dinner!
Walking up to the gardens and historic antebellum home
Horse stables and pond
Some of the house ruins–3 weddings were being held on Saturday and
it was the PERFECT place
Me and my favorite playing bocce–and yes, I destroyed him!
I would love to show you more pictures, however my blogger is messing up any pics I try to upload where I took them at a side angle so my apologies. Overall, we had wonderful weekend with just the two of us, although we did have quite a few misses in the land of football–it was truly emotional watching us lose to LSU when we had clearly won and then the Titans throwing away the game in the last minute, but on a high-note, we were treated to a superb couple’s massage, roasted our first smores of the season, snuggled up to watch movies, and ate at the relaxing beer garden complete with hot dogs and pretzels… clearly a weekend filled with food and drink–just what the doctor ordered!
We got up Sunday morning, headed to the local Cracker Barrel {as if we hadn’t indulged enough already}, drove home, and then I met Mom for an afternoon shopping trip for some girl’s time….and even managed to pick up my first Christmas decor of the season–a new wreath for the side porch! I know, it;s early, but when you see it, you gotta buy it!
This week, it’s on to get ready to tackle the following action items:
1. Planning someone’s birthday dinner during the UT/Alabama weekend festivities…yes Bev, I am talking about you my dear đ
2. Finish registering at our 3rd and final destination…Bed, Bath, and Beyond–bring on the kitchen gadgets and gear
3. Completing our save-the-dates and sending them out next week!
4. Organizing our chili and football party for this Saturday
5. Cleaning out my closet for a Goodwill drop-off and making room for the fall/winter wardrobe
6. Working on the budget to prepare for holiday gift giving, parties, and festivities
Happy Monday friends!!! If the weather is as lovely where you are as it is in Nashville, get out there and enjoy it…so much to do this time of year and I plan on taking advantage of all the fantastic events–woo hoo!!
