Finally…Home Sweet Home!!

weekend

October 25, 2010

This weekend marks the last time Jeff and I had plans to travel outside of Nashville!! Can you hear my excitement?? I am just so happy not to have to pack my suitcase for awhile and actually get to spend some time at home during the fall and winter months… ahhh home sweet home! Now let’s recap this weekend:
Friday afternoon, we packed up the car and headed to Knoxville to meet everyone for Bev’s birthday celebration. We started the night out at Savelli’s–her favorite Italian place–and wow, we had quite a crowd. There were 20 of us there and we practically took over the restaurant, but definitely had fun spoiling the birthday girl with cards, presents, and cupcakes!
Christian, Bev, and Her Mom Ms. Joan
 Me and My Mr.
 Pam and Lisa–Yay!!
Broadway and Me… On the Right Side–HAHA!
 Jeff’s Mammoth Calzone
Birthday Girl–Look at all those candles!!
 Hard Core Rappers
Me and My BFF… and Christian =)
Candice, Meg, Me… and Christian AGAIN!!
The next morning, we woke up early, had a fantastic home-cooked breakfast courtesy of Mrs. Miller, and then decided to head back to Nashville instead of going to the UT/BAMA game. We had given our tickets to Jeff’s sister and her husband as he is a huge BAMA fan, so we drove home to get some things checked off our list. I will only say this once–and yes, I am glad I didn’t sit through that game at Neyland Stadium because I probably would’ve been the loud annoying fan screaming the entire time… sad, sad day in the life of a VOLS fan and I am hoping for bigger and better things to come next year. I don’t lose well–end of story.
Once Jeff and I finished tidying up our abode and picking up our new furniture from the PB, I put my culinary skills to work and borrowed a recipe from Candice for Chicken Spaghetti–delicious!! Here it is: {and yes, it is so easy to make!!}
Ingredients
4 chicken breasts–boil in water to cook and then cut up into small pieces
8-10 oz. of spaghetti–cooked in water that chicken was boiled in
1 can Rotel
1 lb. Velveeta (1/2 a block)
3 tbsp. worcheshire
Salt and pepper
1 tbsp of butter

Directions
Mix all the above ingredients together and bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins or until bubbly

Sunday morning, we went to church and then I was out running errands {and do a little shopping} before joining my friend Jennifer at her Sip and See Shower for new baby Bryce. Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of my present, but I bought a custom print from Little Pig Press on Etsy (below) and had it framed to match Bryce’s new nursery. She LOVED it and I was so glad I was able to give her something special to keep…
Then, I called my amazing grandmother to wish her a VERY happy birthday!! Her and my Papa were out running around town picking up her new digital camera and eating dinner so I didn’t get to see her, but the whole family will be together next weekend and we’ll be celebrating then. My wonderful Gran–I love you more than you will ever know and am so thankful I have your name… I’m a lucky girl to have such a strong and wonderful role model in life!
Last night, I cooked Chipotle Lime porkchops with long grain wild rice and a fun fall salad–I know, I’m on a roll cooking these days, right??–and then we settled in to our normal Sunday nights of watching Boardwalk Empire and Brothers and Sisters. Now, back to the madness known as Monday, right?? Hope you all had a fun-filled weekend, too! =)
