The mega of all shopping adventures–also known as Black Friday–is only 3 weeks away ladies and gentlemenโฆ can you believe it? Time flies when youโre having fun, right? Yes, Mom and I are already plotting our plan of action, with some necessities on our list that must make it into our cart come check-out timeโฆ with these thoughts in mind, I wanted to put my two cents out there to help make the most out of your Day-After-Thanksgiving shopping experienceโฆ important details I assure you so pay close attention:
1.
Have a Game Planโscope out your must-shop stores and know the times for special savings, door busters, hours of operation, etc. Create a list of the top priorities on your Christmas list so that you know exactly what time you need to arrive and what department you need to head within any given storeโฆ 2.
Get Your Caffeine Onโfor me, caffeine in the AM is as essential as consuming my breakfast. You need to be well-rested and bright eyed and bushy tailed on Black Friday to ensure you get all the goodies youโre seeking out thereโฆ Mom and I will be starting our day at the local Starbucks
3. Leave the Babies at HomeโTo all you mommies, I LOVE all those sweet babies, but please leave your little bundles of joy at home during this craziness. There is no need for the tiny humans to be toted around in and out of the cold and those strollers–I know they are easy, yet for shoppers they are a literal roadblock. I think Daddy should watch the babies while he lounges on the couch all dayโฆfather/daughter and/or son time is VERY important and theyโll be glad you didnโt try bribing them to shop with you ๐
4.
Dress ComfortablyโIโve been there and done it before. Wearing an oh-so-cute shopping outfit, yet, by the end of the day, I had to buy new shoes because of the blisters I gave myself due to walking miles and miles without stopping in the name of fashion. Wonโt do it again I assure youโฆ Iโll be dressed for comfort, that way I can wrestle around with crazy people to take that $50 jacket home to the fiancรฉ
5. Have FunโBlack Friday officially kicks off the holiday shopping season. Sure, there are decorations already up at the mall and weโre already receiving emails/gift cards/coupons to use the day of, but remember, weโre all in it to have funโno name calling/badgering/meanness necessaryโฆ there is enough for everyone I tell you!!
Check out this
website for all the chain stores’ featured Black Friday sales…featuring Best Buy, Target, Kohls, Toys R Us, and tons of others–essential I tell you!!
We went for the first time last year and had a blast! Not sure if we will go again but enjoy going with your momma!
I have never done the whole Black Friday thing, but I am DYING to this year. The only problem is that my mom and sister are EXTREMELY anti-getting up early! I'm still working on them! =)
WOO HOO! I cannot wait for Black Friday!! Love the tips, and I'll be loading up with S'bucks and I agree — leave the babies at home
It baffles me that people bring their kids!! I stay at home and go out in the afternoon once everyone has crashed! ๐
and bring your walkie talkies!!!
I rarely make it to the sale.
My husbands family has a tradition of going out to cut down our own trees he day after thanksgiving. This will be the first year we cut down our own for our place.
But I do hit the day after Christmas sales. Last year I made out great at Crate & Barrel and bought a ton of Xmas stuff for a steal!

Wonderful tips, Natasha!! ๐ I may have printed this out to read 3 weeks from now! AND pass out to all my girlfriends so when we go shopping I don't see babies or stilettos!

Cute post! Although I have never done black friday yet, I say I'll try it every year, and then sleep in:-) Hee hee, maybe this year!
Ohh Black Friday!!! YAY YAY YAY!
Sounds like you have a fabulous plan! Have fun shopping ๐
i am not a black friday shopper but if i was i would use all your tips and advice! ๐ i prefer to decorate that day and just spend the entire day in my pj's!!
p.s. new follower ๐ cute blog!!
I LOVE black Friday! Counting down the days. You hit everything right on! Plans are a must. Oh, and so is the coffee ๐
Me and my mama are also planning our annual excursion – got the email alerts for ads being posted and everything and I've been told every day for the last week that I'll have to wake up before daylight on Thanksgiving Day so I can get to the store and snag a paper before they're gone! Funny enough, I did one of my bulletin boards for my floor on Black Friday tips – and pretty much all of these are on it. ๐
I Just found your blog! And I'm so excited to do some Black Friday shopping this year! yay!
-Meg
I think the key to Black Friday is to go with friends/family who you can have a GREAT time with. I know each year, I spend more time laughing with the people I am with, than stressing over finding exactly what I am looking for. Ha!
Good Luck This Year!
