It’s Back… Wedding Wednesday

wedding

December 8, 2010

This is for the ladies who are needing wedding detail updates like it ain’t nobody’s business… it may seem as though we’ve been slacking on the particulars, however, we’re still kicking booty and taking names, I have just been less vocal about it through the holiday season–in no particular order, here we go:

The talented Amy Lynn Larwig has been booked for my {and my mother’s} wedding day makeup–trial run a few weeks ago was sheer success and I couldn’t believe how good it looked… still looked like me, but “dressed up” and really looking like a bride. P.S. is she not the cutest thing ever??

Hmmm… an important little detail arrived at the dress salon last week, and YES, by that, I mean my wedding dress is HERE!!! Arzelle’s called and I almost jumped through the ceiling I was so excited… it will be awhile before I go in for my fittings, but still, my actual wedding gown is waiting for me=woo hoo happy dance time! Don’t you wish you could see?? I know, I tease, but I cannot wait to be able to show it off, too!

Thanks to some networking, we finally have our pastor to marry us. Jeff and I know him personally, not  only through church but because I work with his wife–small world isn’t it? Reverend Wynn Batson will preside over our service and we can’t wait to begin marriage counseling in January! We are signed up and will be taking assessments so that we can talk through differences, similarities, and anything else he feels we need to discuss… advice??
I have a feeling that I am the only bride-to-be in the world that would order her cake serving set 6 months before she gets married–haha! OCD at its finest ladies and gentlemen. I had this feeling they would discontinue it {it happened with my crystal, but has since been resolved} and then I would be devastated since I hadn’t seen any others I even remotely liked…bet you can’t guess where its from 😉
We met with Laurie at aVenue to discuss anything and everything reception. She is working on our floorplan, decor, and all the other miscellaneous details and then we’ll meet with her again in January for updates and to move forward on the overall design and theme.
Other items to tackle for December:
  • Order Jeff’s wedding ring
  • Order MOB dress
  • Make appt to try on tuxedos for Groom, FOB, Groomsmen, and Ring Bearer
  • Coordinate bridal portraits for April–Mom is SO on top of this 😉
  • Select Flower Girl dress and shoes for sweet little Madeline
  • Work on invitation wording/design so when Ms. Joni at Chocolate Butterbean returns we’ll be ready to go!
  1. Kristen says:

I love that you have your serving set already. Isn't it funny the little details that you choose to focus on and need to accomplish?! Mine was a cake topper. I had it about 7 months out! ha ha!

  2. Heather says:

What fun! Thanks for the update.

  3. Caroline says:

Yay! It will be here before you know it. We went to counseling and it was a little weird. Our pastor told us a little too much info about he and his wife. Hope you don't have the same issue. 🙂

  4. This is super exciting!! We did the Marriage prep courses and I thought that they were really beneficial! I would recommend talking with your Fiance now about everything…inlaws, parenting, finances..everything (if you haven't already gone into detail).

An old boss of mine tried to scare me into thinking that it was a test…remember that it is NOT a test 😉

Yay! This is all so exciting!

  5. I love all of your wedding details. So excited for you! It will be here before you know it 🙂

  6. You are totally on top of it all!! Good for you — love your cake set too, beautiful! 🙂

  7. Love the serving set!! and don't worry — I received mine at the bridal shower – which was four months before the wedding =)

  8. Hey Natasha!

My husband Keith and I did pre-marital "counseling". through our church. We're Catholic and the church actually requires it. Out here where we live there is actually a weekend getaway that focuses solely on opening communication to talk about wants, needs, differences, dreams and 'love language' as they call it. It was wonderful and such a valuable experience. The one out here is called Engaged Encounter and I believe they are national and open to people of all faiths.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, I just get so excited when I hear about other brides and grooms doing extra things to help their future marriage. It was the best wedding gift we could give ourselves.

Best wishes on your upcoming marriage!

  9. Husband and I loved our wedding prep! It was a great way to reassure ourselves and cue any potential bumps in the road ahead. Good luck!
