OK, so I know last week was a little crazy… sickly, toothache, bla bla bla–the list goes on and on. Finally feeling like myself again today–thanks in part to all those meds–and I have so much to complete by this weekend
(AKA Christmas) that I have made my list and checked it twice.
- Finish wrapping all our gifts with lovely bows and ornaments to boot
- Make my “special Christmas treat” for our families… I started last year with making edible yummies for everyone to take home to enjoy and I can’t wait to surprise them
- Meet Dad on Thursday morning for some last minute shopping for Mom’s stocking
- Cook my Christmas Day dishes per Gran’s request–I was assigned sweet potato casserole {as always} but am going to make red velvet cake balls, too!
- Pack up for overnight stays with Mom and Dad during the holiday
- Oh yeah, and only a 3-day work week…almost forgot about that little exciting tidbit
- Show everyone our Christmas cards–they finally went out late last week and today–I will post our card once everyone receives thier holiday tidings!
This weekend, Jeff and I took a lot of time to relax so I could recuperate. He was such a good nurse, taking care of me and making sure I was comfortable. Friday night, he made my my favorite pasta and then we had a little surprise visit from Meg and Aaron who brought me ice cream to make me feel better–so sweet of them! Then, we snuggled up on the couches and rented The Town with Ben Affleck. GREAT MOVIE–if you want to give in and let the boy pick a movie, this is the one to watch… and yed, even girly movie lover me loved it!
Saturday, we headed out to Brentwood and Franklin for more shopping…we came home with a carload full of goodies too!! Topiaries for the front porch, an upholstered chair for one of the guest rooms, 3 lamps, 2 big mirrors, and tons of odds and ends–pics to come! That night, Jeff had made reservations to take me out to dinner, but we both decided I needed to take it easy after going all day so he called in Mellow Mushroom and we indulged on pizza instead… another action packed night of renting a movie, this time my choice, Going the Distance–cute, but nothing worth writing about.
Sunday morning, we made it to church to celebrate the last full week of Advent and sang a tons of Christmas carols–yippee!! Afterwards, we met the Grunkes for lunch at McAlister’s and then Meg and I headed to get some shopping done for ourselves. Let’s just say we had quite a few laughs when I tried these bad boys on and Meg donned a silver sequin skirt and… HAHA!
To round out the weekend, Jeff rescheduled our dinner plans for Sunday night and took me to the
Stockyard Restaurant. Oddly enough, I have lived in Nashville pretty much my entire life and had never eaten there… boy I missed out! Amazing calamari, a to-die-for filet, and the most decadent turtle cheesecake I have ever tried–definitely a place to try for a fun and romantic date night!
And in other news, I also wanted to mention a little fun giveaway from a FAB company,
Eco Natural Soap. Alicia and her husband started this company and have been extremely successful with their products… they were kind enough to send me some of their goodies a few weeks ago and of course I have been sampling out the goods.
Between their lip balms, body bars, and cleansing soaps, I am hooked and love them! They have generously offered to give away 2 soaps, a luxury balm/butter, and a lip balm of your choice–pretty good, huh? All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me you’re a follower, and what beauty product you simply can’t live without. Giveaway will be open through next Monday 12/27 and then I’ll randomly select a winner the following day… Good luck ladies!!
