Hello friends and happy mid-day Monday to you. This weekend was one for the books…through travel and lots getting completed, Jeff and I still managed to relax and spend time together soaking everything in and enjoying each other’s company, just the two of us.
Friday night, we took it easy–cooking dinner, sipping on a glass {or two} of wine, and catching up on TV…you better believe I watched all the Royal Wedding specials…oh I totally gave in to it all–haha.
Saturday morning, we left Nashville at the crack of dawn and headed to Atlanta. Fortunately, Jeff is a BIG believer in using Priceline and we got our hotel room at the W hotel in Perimtere for the low low price…now I’m a big fan, too. We spent much of our day shopping: first for all the alcohol for our wedding because of the big cost savings from buying it in Georgia…check out the back of our Tahoe–this is going to be one big party!!
The rest of the afternoon was spent perusing around shops, finally buying my rehearsal shoes, Jeff stocking up on all sorts of goodies {yes, he certainly shopped more than I did}, and then we got dressed up for dinner. We had reservations at Horseradish Grill in Buckhead in the cutest neighborhood. The food was fantastic and boy did we indulge…fried green tomatoes, goat cheese stuffed porkchop, mac and cheese, and sweet potatoes–YUMMY! It didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect and we got to eat outside in their courtyard…perfect date night.
Sunday, we headed to Canoe for brunch which is in the Virginia Highlands area–another favorite locale of ATL. This place was remarkable…the landscape right on the water, the outdoor dining, and the food–I got lured in to eating the best french toast ever…stuffed with marscapone and bananas and topped with berries…heaven on earth!
Then we hit the road for home. In driving home, we drove right by where some of the tornadoes from last week hit in Ringgold, Georgia. So sad to see such utter devastation–words can’t describe it so I attempted to take pictures…just so scary.
Once we got home, I did the normal Sunday routine of heading to the grocery store, grilling out, and then a night coupled with hours of mindless TV time. It was a sweet ending to the weekend when we heard about Bin Laden being killed…thankful that I’m an American and that justice was finally being served for so many families who lost loved ones in 9/11. We never give up, do we? It was nice to see our politicalness being put to the side for the benefit of our entire nation.
This week, I have much to get done before the big weekend is FINALLY here…I can’t believe Chicago with my best friends for my bachelorette weekend is 4 days away–I know the BFF has been hard at work doing some pretty secretive stuff and I cannot wait to venture off to a fun city for some much needed girl time right before the wedding! Hope you all have a fantastic day đ

Looks like you guys had a great weekend. I can already tell your wedding/reception is going to be a great time for you and all of your guests. I can't wait to see pictures!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend! How exciting that your big Bachelorette party is SO soon! đ
That barn picture is so priceless and heartwarming. I hope you have a blast in Chicago- the wedding is so soon! Remember to take it all in and don't let the little things stress you out. When you're type A (like you and I) it's easy to get caught up in the details. Just a little tip from a past bride that I thought I'd pass on!
Aww you were down in ATL- its such a fun place to visit- living here not so much đ The Horseradish grill looks amazing! I was in Nashville seeing the fam this weekend and driving through Ringgold too I couldnt hardly believe it. It made me sick just seeing everything!!
Sounds like a great weekend, and I am sure the upcoming weekend is going to be pretty fabulous too! đ
my boyfriend is from Buckhead! we have to go to that restaurant when we're there in June đ
We're also buying all of the alcohol for our wedding. How did you know which quantities to aim for?
Sounds like a great wedding! And yes, that is a lot of alcohol!
Have fun in Chicago!
