I, like practically every other American, tend to make a list of “resolutions/goals” to keep myself on target and track–and of course I am jumping on the blogging bandwagon so you can keep me accountable! My last year’s post looked something like this:
So, how did I do?
1. Master Copperplate Calligraphy. I mastered my own “style”, yet my side business took a backseat to other events. For those asking, yes, I will pick this up again–perhaps a side job on maternity leave?
2. Complete Another 1/2 Marathon…fail. I didn’t do it, though I did workout beyond belief for our wedding and am still keeping up with exercising to help cope with pregnancy weight.
3. Save More Money..success! This initiative is one that I couldn’t do without my financially-savvy husband. That man loves his Excel spreadsheet I tell you.
4. Learn to Use my SLR Camera. Semi-pass. I use my Nikon a lot more, yet when I am out and about, my little point-and-shoot seems to do its job. I have a feeling with Caroline coming, this little gadget is going to get used a bit more often.
5. Read More Books. I did it!! I read 1 book each month. This is the most I have ever read {without having to like I did during college} and I am so happy–I feel like I turned off the television a bit more and spent quality time with entertaining books instead.
As for 2012, my list of potential achievements to abide by look something like this:
1. Volunteer more. With joining Junior League, I want to do more in the community and I am excited to get my placement this spring…doing for others feels so good!
2. Lose the baby weight. I know I’m still pregnant, but I’m already promising myself I will lose it all–positive thinking I tell you! I was in the best shape of my life when we got married and I want to get back to that place…not to mention with vacations and parties already in the works for my girlfriends tying the knot, I do not want to look like the “mom” đ
So, are you like the rest of us and make resolutions? What is motivating you this year? I’d love to hear what you’re planning to accomplish in 2012…
Great goals! I was so worried about losing the baby weight, but I nursed and it literally fell right off. I weight about 10 pounds less now than I did pre-preg. I think a lot of women are like that. You will love Junior League! ~Andrea
I love these resolutions. You can totally achieve them! So excited to hear about the new business venture. đ
As for your goal of saying no, Caroline is a great excuse! Plus, you will be so tired and so in love with her, you will just want to hang with her anyway đ
I love all of these goals!! Learning to say "no" to over scheduling is SO hard! Also, I have lofty goals of one day starting my own business too! đ
Happy 2012, Natasha!
Great list, girlie đ
Congrats on accomplishing some things last year… Even semi:)
Since you've read so many books, do you have any recommendations? I'm running out of good things to read.
Lena
Love this list! I'm stealing a few for my own!
Great list! I second the commenter above who said that Caroline will be a great excuse to start saying no more – it's very true! I use Eli as an excuse to get out of things all the time đ
I wouldn't worry about being on the go to much, seeing how everyone I've ever known that has a baby, their social life or even trips out of the house comes to a screeching halt the first few months they have their newborn! đ
I DEF think you should start your own BUSINESS! You are SOO talented Natasha! I could be your first customer? You could design my wedding invitations in that gorgeous handwriting of yours!!! đ
Great goals!! I think starting your own business is SUPER exciting!! Can't wait to hear more details!! đ
You have some great goals and I'm sure you will achieve each one!!!
I so agree with you on #3!
Isn't it always great to write down your goals/resolutions, helps keep you more accountable đ
I know you can achieve them all…you are definitely a go getter!!
What an exciting year 2012 will be for you. Sounds like you have lots planned this year besides baby Caroline coming đ
Yayyyy for starting a business! I can't WAIT to hear more!
Ooo. Starting your own business sounds awesome. Can't wait to hear more about it. đ
Wonderful goals! Starting your own business sounds awesome! I hope you accomplish each goal!
Good luck with your goals! I can't wait to see what your new business entails.
I really want to make a difference. It's something that I have said since I was a little girl and this year, I am putting my words into actions. I am walking the Avon walk this year, possible going to run the 1/2 marathon for Team in Training, Working with a few non profits and a few other things! I am so excited! The fact that I have already signed up for these things make me so happy!

I'm so excited for you and the prospect of your new business! I can't wait to hear more. And I'm proud of you for reading so much this year…I failed miserably on that front. Maybe 2012 is my year for the books! đ
Great goals! You'll be fine losing your baby weight. It's surprising how fast it just falls off in my opinion and your so fit now and you have a little one growing in your belly.;)
This is a bit off topic, but did you go through someone to design your blog or did you deign it? Looking to revamp mine and I love the look of yours.
I love your goals for the year! I can't wait to hear more about what your new business is going to entail! That is very exciting! đ
Love all your goals and we have a similar one in mind! I am sure you will accomplish all of yours and more…you deserve it!
