It’s already Friday, yet I am still trying to play catch-up since we were travelling most of the week/ trying to get back in the groove before the weekend approach…oops, that didn’t happen.
Los Angeles was tons o’ fun. And by tons o’ fun, I mean we all made it back alive. I’m not going to lie…travel with little bit wasn’t easy. Don’t get me wrong, she was good for the most part, but with the ins and outs of airport travel, shuffling around a hotel room for 3 nights, and trying to keep our sanity, it was tough, but oh so worth it. To see Jeff’s grandmother’s face when she met Caroline for the first time was priceless and a moment I will cherish forever. We got to spend a lot of time with her catching up, playing endless rounds of her favorite card game Skipbo, and of course CC entertained us all with her antics. But at the end of the day, I was excited to come home and return to “normal”. To those of you who travel with multiple small children, I humbly bow down to you.
P.S. I’ll be working on an airport travel what to/what not to do post soon!
This Wednesday was our last MOPS meeting of the year…it’s been such a fun experience and I cannot wait to go back next year. I’ve met some incredible women, learned more about my faith, and listened to some wonderful and inspirational people-if you have an opportunity to join a similar group in your city, you should absolutely check it out! It’s changed my world for the better and I feel happier when I leave after each meeting.
Last night, Jeff and I had a fun date night to an early dinner and then went to the movies to see Lincoln. I had been reading all the rave reviews about the newest Steven Speilberg flick and have to say I was blown away…it was an incredible movie and one worth seeing in the theater for sure. I’m a history nerd and love anything that pertains to the Civil War. I’m going to go ahead and call it right here, too-Daniel Day Lewis will win the Oscar for Best Actor this year…he was amazing yet again.
I tackled my mission and got our Christmas cards mailed out-it’s something I like to do sooner than later so I got to work as soon as we got them delivered and put them in the mailbox yesterday morning-hallejuah! Can’t wait to show them off very soon!
That’s all I’ve got for today folks…tonight we’ve got friends coming over for dinner, then tomorrow us girls will be heading off to Franklin to celebrate Dicken’s Christmas, and Sunday will be jam packed with church, wrapping endless amounts of gifts, and decorating our real tree to go in the downstairs family room…a fun weekend indeed!
Those are the sweetest photos I've ever seen!
i love those precious photos. definite framers. 🙂
i mailed out our christmas cards also and so, so, so glad to have them out of the way! i feel like i've spent 4 of the past 12 months addressing envelopes!!! haha
have a wonderful weekend, friend!
Lincoln was outstanding! I left completely blown away that films like that are actually in existence. Those people have some talent!
Those pictures of CC with Esther are PRECIOUS. What sweet moments y'all were able to have!
I look forward to your travel tips! Were going on our second flight in a couple weeks and are definitely going to get a window seat this time! Also can't wait to see lincoln and twilight when were back east (and memaw can babysit) Glad your all settled back in I know its SO much work traveling with a baby!
Love this pics of Caroline with her great grandma… so precious! And great grandma's got an awesome little set up going in her house. Everything within reach and a festively bright blanket. I want to be just like her when I'm her age, haha!! Looks like you had a short visit out to CA, but a wonderful one. How special!!
And my sis-in-law and done mops for 7 years now. She's obsessed. Question for you — Is it only church related? Like, my church doesn't have a mops, but a baptist one nearby does… would I be able to join (one day) even though I'm not baptist?
Awww…thank you for sharing these precious memories. : )
xoxo

I've been following your blog for awhile now and always enjoy your posts! I'm flying with our 3 mo old daughter in 1 week (her second time but it's just going to be the 2 of us– no daddy to help!) so I would love to hear your thoughts on traveling with a little one. Also, I just joined a MOPS group and have really enjoyed it as well. Take care!
our little gals have the same wardrobe…i see baby gap is a favorite? 🙂 do you have any other favorite shops for your little miss?
