Beaching it up with the family begins in a mere 2 days and I am anxiously awaiting our trip to one of my favorite places…
Rosemary Beach, Florida! Mom and I went there a few years ago for a week long girl’s trip and we have wanted an excuse to go back ever since.
Between the gorgeous beachfront homes, the green lawns perfect for afternoon playtime, the famous
Sugar Shak for anything sweet, and of course that beautiful white sand and blue water, what more could you ask for? This year, we rented a house that’s right next to the beach and I know we are going to have an absolute ball!
I’ve been packing away, little by little, as not to overwhelm myself or overpack (like I always tend to do), but today I am focusing on all the goodies necessary for Miss Caroline at the beach! She had her first Seaside adventure last year when she was oh so teeny tiny, but I think this year is going to be SO much fun, now that she is walking and will undoubtedly LOVE the water, sand, and sun.
First up,
Old Navy flip flops…they are easy on the wallet and will keep those little piggies cool. Next up, a straw beach hat from
Gap, which is perfect because it goes with everything. We have one of my favorite pieces we bought this spring-a
floral romper from Gap to throw on when we head to lunch or for post-pool fun.
Of course, every girl needs a fun,
colorful beach tote to haul all her gear around. Mimi and Pappy bought CC one last year and we use it all the time! We found a similar
swim float that I cannot wait to try out…it got great reviews online and it’s got a canopy shade to keep Caroline from getting too much sun. Are these
bamboo sunglasses not the cutest things ever? Our girl loves to glam it up and keep her eyes protected, too! Last year we tried out the Aveeno brand of baby sunscreen products and I was really impressed…sensitive to the skin, but definitely did their job-we have stocked up on all the items for face, body, and lips to prevent nasty sunburns (I hope). I admit, I went nuts on the swimwear line-up this year for CC, but it’s hard not to when they are all SO.STINKING.CUTE. This
orange polka dot suit had her name written all over it. Lastly, a fun and festive
whale beach towel with her name on it-they are made really well and I love the design!
We also have some fun beach toys packed, our handy dandy baby beach tent, and of course all the stylish beach wear…I can’t wait to show off some of Caroline’s adorable fashion! Anything I left off??
This is a great post. We are taking a family vacation in June, and my niece will be 15 months old, I can't wait to see how much fun she has. I hope she loves the sand and water as much as we all do. We haven't booked a house or condo yet but are looking at different places on 30A and in Destin. Let me know if you have any recs on where to stay!
Have a blast in Rosemary, it's one of my favorite beach locations! Quick question, I'm currently pregnant but we will be taking our 8 week old to the beach in September. I know she will be indoors most of the time but what baby beach tent do you recommend? Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the sunscreen recommendation! You're the second person to tell me they love the Aveeno for babies so I'll definitely grab some of that for my little Piper:)
Is there anything cuter than baby flip flops, sunglasses and bathing suits?!?! I just bought the same towel from PBKids! Love the colors! Ahh….little girls are SO fun, but oh so dangerous!!! đ Cute finds!
This post came right in time! Thanks for the awesome ideas!! đ
completely agree with these picks especially the floaty! Ava loves it! Have fun in FL can't wait to see pics! xo
We have the swim float and love it!
looove rosemary beach! have a great time! we are headed down there in july! xo
I can't handle all of this cute baby girl beach goodness!! Hope you guys have an absolute blast – can't wait to see photos of CC on the beach with sand between her toes! Ps – not sure if I gave you the rundown, but the house we had booked for our trip sold and the whole thing turned into a nightmare. So, we're Mexico bound in late June (8th anniversary) and then headed to Rosemary next summer (unless I'm mega preggo! Ha!).
Enjoy the trip, dear…. can't wait to vicariously live through your pictures when you return!! Be safe and have a ball!!!!! xo!
Oh, and you did leave one important thing out…… a toddler-sized beach cruiser. Holla!!!! Haha!!! If only!
You have the sunscreen and that is the most important thing! I think you have everything convered. Have a great time and thanks for sharing!

Fun!! We bought the same float! So excited to try it out! đ
Oh, I'm so glad you did this post. We're going to the beach with Mac at the end of the month and I have no idea what to pack for him. We took him over Christmas, but he wasn't walking (or even crawling) yet, so this will be a whole different experience. I'm buying that floatie thing today.
My husband, son and I are going to Rosemary Beaach this month too!!! How fun! We have never been before, but I have heard so many good things about it! Have fun! P.S. I've been reading your blog since you were prego with Caroline and I am so excited to see Baby Carson! You look great!
This stuff is so cute and your vacation sounds too good to be true! I'm going to sneak in one of your bags, k?
I might have had to buy E a towel and the swim float!
OMG love the bathing suit and the little romper!!! so freakin cute and I just bought the bathing suit for my bff's baby!

Those sunglasses are adorable! I'll have to look around for a float and towel for C. Did you use anything last summer for Caroline to just sit on the beach? A little canopy of some sort?
I love this article and I can not wait to go to the beach with my family this summer. I have never been to Rosemary Beach, Florida but I am sure it is beautiful. My family and I always go to the Outer Banks in South Carolina. I really like the list you provided above for some great beach necessities. I personally think the most important is the sunscreen because the sun can cause skin damage, especially to a baby. I have been using Natural Sunscreen for my skin and my babies because it does not contain harmful chemicals and can be applied to any part of the body. Well I hope you have a great vacation at the beach!
