I “borrowed” this idea from Tracy, just because I thought it was such a fun idea…and because I have so many places I want to see!! Jeff and I are already thinking sometime later this fall/winter we might try to have a kid-free weekend, just the two of us, so maybe we can jet off to one of these destinations and cross one off our list.
Glacier National Park, Montana
(contrary to popular belief, I love the outdoors)
Martha’s Vineyard
Boston, Massachusetts
Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Portland, Oregon
(and then venture to the wine region in the Pacific Northwest)
Savannah, Georgia
(I’ve visited before, but it’s been a long time)
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
San Antonio, Texas
Phoenix, Arizona
So much fun! I should compile a list like this. Minnesota is beautiful – come in the fall, it is by far the best time of year we have here! đ
Such beautiful places! We're going to Portland next month. I love it there and the wine country is breathtaking!
I love to travel too. I really want to go to New York City, Greece, L.A., San Fransisco, and take another trip to Italy. One day we'll do it all! đ
Been to Boston and would love to go back – such a beautiful city. I would also love to visit both Seattle and Martha's Vineyard (Nantucket is on my bucket list!) My husband is in San Antonio for work right now actually, and I can't wait for him to get back and tell me all about it. I've heard it's a wonderful, family friendly city – with great Mexican food. What's not to love about that? All of these places would be great weekend getaways!
Both Seattle and Portland are awesome cities! I live in the wine country outside of Portland and I absolutely love it!!! Let me know if you ever make to either of those places and I'll have some suggestions for ya đ
YEs I want to do Jackson Hole too!
Your list is very similar to mine! There are so many places to go and see! My husband and I always say that are money is invested in trips! We love going so much, but with two little ones, we aren't able to go as much.
I want to go to New England in the fall, Seattle, Portland, Austin, Montana, Arizona…
We have joked about renting an RV too-it would be so much fun! đ
Let me know if you come to Savannah! I live here and can recommend great places to stay, eat and visit đ
I just got back from Miami & Austin, which were both on my "bucket list". I still have LOTS to see… New Orleans, Boston, Chicago, Maine. I live in California, so I have the west pretty much covered… Scottsdale Arizona is amazing (with Sodona nearby).

FYI: Portland & Seattle are only a 3 hour drive from one another! You could totally hit both on a long weekend. đ I'm partial to Portland though! If you head this way let me know. I can recommend some of our fab wineries & restaurants.
Great list but sorry, Glacier National Park isn't in Minnesota!
I was gonna say the same thing – I was born and raised there and thought "Hey, wait a minute!" But yes, great list!!
Head on up to Boston! đ It's definitely doable to combine visiting Boston and spending time on the Vineyard into a long weekend! Having been born and raised in Texas though, I'll also have to fully support a trip to San Antonio (definitely fall/winter, so you're not miserable). Between the Riverwalk and the Mexican food, it's just… heaven!
Every time I think about wanting to take a vacation to a tropical island, I remember how many fantastic places there are in the USA that I still am dying to visit! Montana is currently on the top of my list. Followed closely by Dallas, TX. haha Could they be any more different?!
Great list!! The northwest is definitely at the top of my list! I have been lucky enough to travel up and down the east coast many times, but have never hit anywhere in between, so Colorado is high up there, too!
Ahhh, a kid-free trip sounds AMAZING!
Seattle is amazing, you must go in the summer and it would even be a fun trip to bring the kids on! Also, Glacier is in Montana and is by far my favorite national Park!
Yes come to Portland and Seattle đ I live right outside of Portland and love living in the Pacific NW. There are so many fun things to do in both Seattle and Portland and the cities surrounding. If you are ever in town let me know and I will give you a list of fun things to go do.
There are SOO many places on my travel list! New York is tops as I've never been, second to Napa Valley and then the Northeast in the fall!I hope to cross a few off soon too!
all of those plus DC!
Great list! I have had the pleasure of visiting several of those locations and they do not dissappoint! We just got back from 8 days in an RV with our kiddos – Moab, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone! It was amazing!
I am assuming California is already checked off your list? Otherwise, Napa, San Francisco and Lake Tahoe all need to be added!
I will be going to Phoenix next month it definitely gets hot! But Savannah, Boston, and Philly have been on our list for a long time! We can't wait to do some US touring đ
My now-husband and I did a long weekend in Boston when we were engaged and it was one of our favorite trips! Definitely recommend going there. And previous commenters are right; Glacier National Park is in Montana, not Minnesota, but lots of other amazing places/activities are in Minnesota. Great list!
San Antonio is really fun! And Boston in the fall is a must! I have some friends that just got back from Portland and she's ready to move there :)! Good choices. I would love to visit Nashiville, Lake Tahoe, Columbus, and New York.
LOVED Seattle! You will too – especially the market… wait until you see the SIZE of the sunflowers. You will want to take them all home and realize you don't have enough room in your carry on or luggage. I suggest August for Seattle – It is the dry season. I went in August and didn't see a rain cloud for days. And if you go to Seattle – rent a car and plan a drive down to Cannon Beach Oregon. Pretty beach I have ever seen {and I'm from Florida so that says a lot!} There are mountains and the ocean in the same place. I couldn't believe my eyes! Leaving for Savannah next week. Super excited. I am dieting now just so I can eat and drink as much as I want đ I'd really love to come to Nashville! I have never been but I've heard it is a lot of fun! I loved this post! One of my favorites. xo Kristen O.
Great list! I'm from Portland originally and lived in Seattle for 5 years, so if you need travel recommendations for either city, let me know! Lots of great dining and fun activities. Just make sure to go between May-September! ; ) I live in Austin now and would definitely recommend a visit here when you do San Antonio (we're only about 75 miles away.)
A lot of these are on my list too! I'm dying to get to the Northeast and do Portland and Seattle. Jackson Hole is absolutely amazing (we got married there), so I'm totally putting my vote in for that as the next place you guys go. Or there's always St. Louis, you know, if you want to just road trip and come visit me! đ
I love Savanna! I've wanted to go back as an adult. This is a great list, I've been making my own and I may steal some of your ideas.
Hubby and I just returned from 8 days in the Seattle/Tacoma area this past Monday. We went to Pikes Place Market and it is something else. My blog tomorrow will be all about our trip. You might enjoy checking it out. I'm sure in the coming years that you will be able to check several of these off ofyour list. Blessings!
I'm dying to visit Charleston, SC – it's definitely on my travel bucket list! Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket are incredible, and Savannah is one of the best places I've ever visited.
I was born in Philly, gotta go for the cheesesteaks! đ

Would love to go to every single one of these places…especially Seattle. Nashville is also on my bucket list. Trying to convince my hubby to take me there for our anniversary this fall. đ
You should definitely check out Portland! I just moved here and it's amazing! đ
I am from the Seattle/Tacoma area. I miss it so much!! Let me know if you need dinner suggestions or things to see/must see!
Philadelphia is so much fun especially this time of year! I miss traveling too but am gonna attempt a trip with both kids soon. I might need medication for that! ha
In a month, I'm flying into Seattle and taking the ferry to Bainbridge Island..sooo excited!! Also, put Banff Canada on your list…amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
