Dear Carson…6 Months Old!

Oh heavens…she turns 7 months old in 2 weeks, so of course I just realized I hadn’t posted her 6 month update…mom fail!! I had it written, just never got around to publishing it, so here goes nothing:

Sunday was your half birthday little bit..say it ain’t so. I remember thinking the 6 month mark was a big milestone when your sister reached that age, and I wholeheartedly agree with that statement for round two as well. Here are your monthly stats and updates!
Growing…We Do It Everyday. I took you in to see your pediatrician for your checkup and you’re a chunky little peanut weighing in at 16 pounds, 10 ounces (75%). You are 25 1/4 inches tall (70%), and your head is 17 3/4 (90%). You were a champ throughout your appointment, until the dreaded shots came. You got 3 pokes AND your flu shot so needless to say you weren’t a happy camper. You are still wearing 3-6 month clothing and size 2 diapers, but I have a feeling we will be inching up to a new size ASAP. You still take 3 naps throughout the day and normally sleep from 8pm-7am. Let’s keep that up, OK?? 😉 The past few weeks have been rough for you as you’re most certainly teething and drool all the time, and as of last night, one of your top teeth popped through!!

Activities and Preferences. You still LOVE to be held and you’re most certainly a mama’s girl. People have been telling me all the time you’re my mini and I can’t say it doesn’t make me happy since big sister is the spitting image of your daddy. You’re getting close to siting up on your own and we have been practicing that a lot as of late. Other favorites include jumping in the exersaucer, hanging out in the kitchen with me in your bumbo seat, rolling around on the floor, getting in the ball pit with sister, and relaxing in your bouncy seat while chewing on toys… your best friends so far have been Sophie, the Nuby teether, any type of stuffed animal, and Wubbanubs. I have noticed that you really like to be out and about lately, especially when we’re at a restaurant, shopping, etc. You’re a people person and are always offering a gummy grin to anyone who looks your way…so sweet!

Food Favorites. We haven’t found a food you won’t eat as of yet. Maybe it’s a 2nd child thing, but I’m loving the fact you aren’t so picky. Your favorites so far are green beans, sweet potatoes, and squash, and you’ve also tried prunes, carrots, green peas, and bananas. You normally eat 5 6oz bottles a day and have “food” twice a day…go girl go! You are also wanting to hold your bottles you little independent thing so we’re slowly mastering that technique (that is a game changer in our world). It makes me laugh because anytime someone has food around you, you stare at it like “gimme some of that”…hehe, all in good time my dear. I am sure your Mimi and Pappy will be loading you up on sugar before we know it.

You continue to amaze us with all your charm, sweet disposition, and cuddles and snuggles Carson. You’re a joy and we love you so very much, sister included!! She is really interacting with you more and more now and it brings me so much happiness to see you two together. I love you button!!
