My Sweet Little Button,
This month you’re eight months old. Everyday I look at you and I feel like you grow more and more overnight. It’s crazy and it makes me sad we’re inching our way closer and closer to your first birthday. You keep us on our toes in every sense of the word my sweet little nugget. Here’s what has been going on this past month:
Teething Woes and Worries. I’m not going to sugar coat it. Teething is tough and you’ve been really clingy lately, because of those nasty teeth coming in up top. You have four teeth, two on top and two on bottom. It’s funny because you are becoming a teeth grinder and it seems like sometimes that’s the only way you get any relief…something we will have to talk to the doctor about soon, as I know that can’t be a good thing.
Food, Food, Food. Baby girl still loves to eat and I have a feeling we have a less-than-picky eater on our hands…thank the Lord!! You still shove anything and everything in your face whenever you can and you swirl it around for a few minutes before deciding whether or not it’s a keeper. Favs in the constant rotation include blueberries, bananas, pasta noodles, crackers, oatmeal (not the baby kind), bread, cheese, yogurt, puffs, mum mums, and crunchies. I love this experimenting with food science project game as it’s always funny to see what you love.
In terms of bottle feeding, you still take 4-5 bottles a day, with 4-6 ounces/bottle. You really don’t enjoy it all that much anymore because you like to feed yourself and use your hands so I have a feeling bottle weaning will be easy with you Little Bit.
Activities Galore. Everyone keeps asking if you’re crawling yet, and that’s a hard one to answer. Do you crawl? Yes. Is it mostly backwards? Yes. It’s hilarious though and you can get anywhere you want, so we don’t mind. Long story short…I think you’d be crawling TOWARDS me if we had more carpet in the house, as you start to slip and slide when you’re on the hardwoods…it’s really cute and your sister is forever on the floor trying to get you to crawl to her.
You still enjoy the jumper, and sometimes will sit still enough for us to push you around in the cart, but we’ve officially retired the bouncy seat and snug seat as you were done with those “baby” items. You’re starting to want to pull up on pieces of furniture, and sit up in your crib, so I’m assuming more baby proofing for you is just around the corner.
You’re a tech guru and love anything with a screen on it (my iPhone, sister’s iPad, the TV)…oh no, we’ve created another technology monster!!!
You are developing such a FUN personality Carson. You giggle and babble all the time, have said “mama” and “dada” (mama was first…haha Jeff!) and you love to interact with everyone. You still love to be held, and go nuts if I’m in the room and not giving you 100% of my undivided attention. When we go out and do stuff, the family jokes that you’re a perfect angel unless you catch a glimpse of me…then you have to have me and no one else will do.
I love our mornings spent together before Daddy and Sister get up, as that’s our time to sit, welcome the day together, play with toys, and then you’ll let me tickle you for a good 20 minutes. That laugh gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME. Nighttime is a sacred part of our day together and I savor those sweet moments each day when I get to pray with you and rock you to sleep…you’re incredible Carson and I love you more than you will ever know!!
Love,
Mommy
Carson is so adorable, Natasha.. Millie grinds her teeth bad too, my Dad's a dentist and he says there really is nothing you can do to prevent them from doing that. Overtime most young babies he says stop on their own. It's like they like the noise it makes, even though I can't speak for you, but for me that noise just drives me up the wall. LOL Happy 8 months, sweet Carson!! p.s. she seems to have perfected the cute pout pretty good. đ
Okay, how did you get that now to stay? Elise has at least that much hair! Ha! đ
Happy 8 months sweet Carson!! I love her gummy sweet smile!
I can't believe she's already 8 months! Time sure is flying! And she is as cute as ever!! xo
She is so precious!! Both of your girls are!
She is just so beautiful!! Both my boys grind their teeth (one of them is 6 – our dentist said there's really nothing to do, a mouth guard is hard since they are growing and changing so fast, but eventually it might help). And it's so nice not having a picky eater isn't it?!
She is so precious!! Time sure does fly!!
She is just too precious! So darling!
How is she already 8 months old? What a cutie- she looks like her mama!
Aw, I remember when my daughter was 8 months. Sounds a fun age!
Happy 8 months to your sweet girl. She is definitely your little mini-me. Such a beauty!
My goodness, she is so darn CUTE! Can't believe she's 8 months already – where does the time go?
Oh what a little sweetheart! My Ellie is 9 months and I have been wanting to try pasta. What kind/shape do you use and how do you cook it?
