ONE. Mimi is on Permanent Vacation
This week was a great one as there have been some big, life changing things going on in our family and today I am so excited to share the news that Mimi has officially retired!! My role model, rock, constant champion, and incredible mother is now officially done with her full-time career. She has poured her heart and soul into her work and now it’s time for her to sit back, relax, and enjoy some much deserved time off.
I have to take a minute to brag on Mimi for she had so many co-workers telling her how they appreciated her, valued her advice and support, and how much they would miss her. She traveled to South America a few weeks ago for her last big work trip to hand off her responsibilities and she came back grinning from ear to ear, telling us they had made a slideshow for her, and had put their customers on the phones on hold so that they could give her a standing ovation. Talk about going out on top! I am so proud of you Mom… though I might miss our in-between conference call talk sessions, I am even more excited for more quality time together with you and your grandbabies.
TWO. Friendly Funnies
THREE. Music City Masquerade
We have the Junior League of Nashville Music City Masquerade black tie event coming up next month and of course I’m already browsing online to find the perfect ensemble for the big gala. I am so excited to get all dressed up, put my hubby in a tux, and spend the night with some of our best friends drinking and dancing the night away…they are even having the band we had for our wedding (Scat Springs) so I know it will be a fantastic time!! Given the fact we rarely get to do things like this, I definitely want to buy a fun gown with lots of details. These are some of my favorites so far: (however, I need a sale to come ASAP, I’m not paying that much money for a dress…mama is on a budget)
FOUR. Bathroom Progress
I know, I haven’t officially done an entire house tour yet, but that’s probably because we have been under renovation since the moment we closed on our house. We started with two bathroom redos and are inching our way to being done…thank the Lord. It’s been constant dust, loud noises, selecting hardware/lighting/paint/wallpaper, and I am ready to have these spaces complete. Here is a little snapshot of the current state of our powder room on the main floor…sure, it looks plain here, but after next week, it’s going to look MUCH different. I went with a bold wallpaper design, classic sconces, a fun sink console, and of course, a mini chandelier…stay tuned for the fun reveal!!
FIVE. Alcohol Slushie…Yes Please!
It’s been a rough week, no doubt, and with more horrid winter temps lurking in our not too distant future, this drink concoction is calling my name like none other. Follow this link for the recipe to make this yummy Vodka Lemonade Slushie.
Happy weekend friends!! Be sure to link up with your fabulous Five on Friday posts below and check out Darci, April, and Christina’s blogs to see what they’re sharing, too.
So much to say, but the last thing I read was "alcohol slushie", so clearly my mind is stuck on that!!! đ

I'm pretty sure I saw the Imogen Tulle Insert Dress on Rent the Runway…you might consider doing that for the Junior League Ball. I'm renting my first gown for a black tie wedding this weekend…hope it's a success! Good luck finding the perfect gown!
I vote for the lace gown for your gala!

I am excited to be linking up for the first time! However, I have been a long time follower. I don't recall if you have ever mentioned what Mimi did for her career. It would be interesting to hear what she did.
That gala sounds so fun!! I second checking out Rent the Runway for a formal dress, there are some really pretty options and its way cheaper than buying a dress you may never wear again!
How exciting that you get to wear a gown! I love them both!

Congrats to your Momma!!! Enjoy retirement!!! Love the dress, but WOW the price. lol, I do love the black lace gown though and the price wasn't near what the other one was. lol Can't wait to see your bathroom redos, i'm in the process of redoing my kitchen, WOW so much work and so many choices. lol
Definately should check out "Rent The Runway", SO great for a formal function, without having to invest major $!!! Have had great great luck with them!
What a great tribute to your mama… and, hello, built in babysitter now, right? =) Loving that black dress…black tie, how fun! I also just wanted to say thank you for hosting this awesome link-up – I've "met" so many amazing bloggers because of it and appreciate you guys!
I would LOVE to attend a black tie event…just for the the dress! haha those gowns are stunning…and I could use a stiff vodka slushie after this week too đ Happy Friday girly!

And speaking of pics — I know your powder room reveal will be amazing, yay for fun wallpaper!
Yes! Rent the Runway is fantastic! I tried them over Christmas while in Vegas and needed a fun outfit for the Britney concert. I can't say enough good things about them. But if you must buy, the black one would be the winner.
Mimi sounds great. What does Mimi do for a career to be able to make trips to Africa? That's awesome. Have a great weekend!
