Dear Carson…10 Months Old

10 MONTHS…how in the heck is my little bit 10 months old???? Here goes nothing baby girl:
My Dearest Carson Elizabeth,
This month marks 10 months since you joined our family and knocked us into official crazy land. I say it each and every day, but you are SO not like your sister and it gets more and more evident the more you grow.

You absolutely love to be the center of attention and have no quams about being loud and proud wherever you are (oh where, oh where did you get that from???). You are constantly making noises, grunts when you’re hungry (lovely and oh so feminine), and shouts until you get what you want…it’s hilarious and kindly lets us know you cannot be ignored. Must be part of that whole 2nd child syndrome thing I keep hearing so much about (P.S. daddy is a 2nd born too, so now I TOTALLY get it)

For this month’s stats, I’m sure you’re gaining weight because you wear my arms out and by bedtime I feel like it’s been a constant workout kind-of-day. As mobile as you are (crawling, cruising, and pulling up on everything), you still prefer to be held by mommy and sit on your little perch AKA my hip. I think you would sleep there if I let you. You just moved into Size 3 diapers button and you’re certainly “filling out” all your 6-12 month clothing very well…cute little fat rolls and all. Oh I just love it! You also are still quite the little teether/biting baby with 6 teeth now. And yes, it hurts when you bite.
In the food department, things haven’t changed much, for you still practically eat anything and everything and are a little begger when you want more of something. We ran out of tangerines the other day and you had a huge meltdown-this was after you had eaten 3 for an afternoon snack no less. Other big winners include pasta, yogurt, cheerios, little crunchies, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, steamed carrots, corn, cucumbers, peas, deli meat, chicken, and rice…maybe this next month I can get you to introduce some of these lovely items to your sister :).

You’re on the move and are consistently doing everything you can to keep up with Caroline, though she leaves you in the dust…not too much longer button, not too much longer and you will be right there with her! I can’t wait for you to be able to give her a run for her money and chase her around one day!
Favorite activities include being outside, stroller rides where you insist on hanging your legs off the side, visiting the park to swing, and playing in the ball pit (when sister says it’s OK). You’re funny about grass and are not a big fan, so the beach should go swimmingly next month!
Other occupiers include letting me stack up wooden blocks and you knocking them over 37364 times a day, “cooking” in the kitchen with me when I cook dinner (otherwise known as banging pots and pans to keep you entertained), crawling all over daddy, sister, and I when we’re on the playroom floor, plying your piano and anything that involves music, and crying whenever someone holds you and keeps you away from me. It’s a hard life little pumpkin, I know it.

You have so much spunk and personality that everyone is always talking about how cute you are…I know I am partial in every sense of the word (that’s what moms are supposed to do), but you are the sun and the moon to us Carson…you’re contagious to be around and I hope you always keep that giggle belly laugh you do so well. Watching you grow and learn and take in all around you brings added joy to each day and I cannot believe we’re starting to plan your first birthday party!! It’s going to be BIG fun.
