Dear Carson…12 Months Old, and Counting!

Your last monthly check-in/status post baby girl…how can that be?? Watching you grow before my very eyes has been nothing short of a miracle and you have transformed into this vivacious little one with so much life that I’m enthused at what the next year will look like for you!
Facts and Figures 
You weigh 20 pounds, 15 ounces, measure 29.25″ inches in length (50-55% in all), and you have a big noggin (95%). Yes, you a growing baby girl and are wonderful in every sense of the word! You can light up a room with your smile and you have the biggest, brightest eyes I have ever seen…you take my breath away and when we are out, people are always telling us how cute you are. I know I’m biased, but I think so, too.
You are now wearing the rest of your 12 month clothes and are starting to model some 12-18 month ensembles, too. You wear size 3 diapers and take two naps a day (oh I am nervous about when you go to 1 nap, because you get mighty cranky!). You also have 7 teeth and like to nibble on fingers…yes, painful when I try to brush your teeth Little Bit. You sleep from 7:30PM-6:30AM at night and I am hoping this streak continues, although you’ve always been a great sleeper. I love our morning time together before daddy and sister get up…it’s our time to snuggle, play in your room, prepare for the day, eat breakfast, and spend a few minutes catching up on the news.
Your nicknames are Little Bit, Peanut, Button (because Pappy called you Benjamin Button when you were born), Little Liz (what Gran and Papa call you), Sister, and Car (what Caroline says). It’s funny because you absolutely know your name and when I know you’re getting into mischief and I say “Carson, what are you doing?”, you immediately look at me and smile and know you’ve been caught red handed.
Favorites
Foods: pasta, eggs, blueberries, bananas, hot dogs, basically anything…you are a wonderful eater and for that I am so thankful! Makes meals a lot more enjoyable when I can be certain at least one of the babes will eat it. You are a messy eater my dear…you love to throw things on the floor, and push everything off the side of your highchair. We will be working on using plates and bowls soon and hopefully mastering the art of the fork and spoon, too!
Activities: bath time, anything with water, playing with sister, climbing on anything and everything (total dare devil with absolutely no fear I tell you), crawling, playing with the toy kitchen, going on walks in the stroller, swinging at the park, dancing to music, playing in the ball pit, reading books (especially the ones with flaps and music), riding in the shopping cart at the store, and “playing” your musical instruments (piano, tambourine, maracas, etc)
Words You Say: Mama, Dada, Baba (bottle), and you converse with your sister in Mandarin all the time 😉
Toys: Hoppy (your favorite Jellycat doll), your blankie, wooden music set, keys, phones/remotes/anything that has buttons, play kitchen, ball crawl, blocks, wooden abacus
Dislikes
The church nursery (I had to come get you last week because they couldn’t get you to stop crying), when Caroline pushes you, and when I’m in the room and not holding you. Separation anxiety is the highest its been with you thus far, and everyone knows you are a true mama’s girl. You also don’t like it when I tell you “no” and so you generally start crying…it’s kinda funny sweetheart because you can totally cry real alligator tears on demand. Maybe you’re going to be an actress?

Carson, I love you to the moon and back and you are an amazing child…I am so thankful you are mine. Thankful for the time I get to spend with you each day, thankful that I get to see you learn and grow and develop, and most of all thankful I get to be your mother. Don’t ever forget how special you are little one, and how much you are loved…you have given me joy from the day you entered the world and no one will ever love you more! OXOX
