Of course, we had to pack in some fun social dinners and outings along the way, too! In Atlanta, I was joined by my two best friends and we took on the town… The Optimist for some incredible seafood selections and then hit up Bartaco the next night, which is a REALLY FUN taco join in Midtown. Great places to check out for sure! Then in Dallas, I met up with the Southerndoe girls, Kristen and Chelsea, and had dinner at a cool hotspot called The Rustic… and don’t even ask me how good the burgers were!!
I was able to stock up on some new fall accessories while I was at market, and cannot wait for some cooler temps so I can whip out my new wraps, necklaces, and long sleeve swing dresses. And since I had some solo time in Dallas, I was able to start reading The Girl on the The Train which is EXCELLENT!! Almost through with it already… and hoping to get back to reading more while I’m at it.
The girls started MDO today and it’s been a lot of fun preparing them for their days at school again… Caroline WAY more excited than Carson, per usual, so I am hoping the adjustment will be less painful than last year. Here they are, all dressed up for their teacher open house last Thursday, and no, I cannot believe how big they are :(.
Thankfully, I had my favorite gal Chic-a-dee Embroidery whip up brand new matching backpack and lunchbox sets for the girls so they could go back to school in proper form, with monograms and seersucker, of course! Aren’t they too cute?? Love the color combination, too.
This week, I am uploading all sorts of new fall inventory to Sugar Bit, collaborating with a local photographer friend on a photoshoot, taking Caroline to her very first day of ballet and tap class on Wednesday, and then getting in top performing action for the 2nd Annual Kicks for Cancer Tournament for Survivor Fitness Foundation this weekend!! So proud of Aaron and Meg and everything they are doing to make people’s lives better… and thankful to get to be a part of this incredible organization. #kicksforcancerSFF #kickinthebox
I read Girl on a Train in 3 days… it's so good!! I couldn't believe the ending! The girls look so adorable in their matching dresses!
Seriously so fun that you had your girlfriends with you while on a work trip. Best of both worlds! I can't wait to see what you've added to sugarbit đ
They are adorable on their first day of MDO. What a busy time!
What great finds for your shop! Glad you enjoyed Dallas – it's where my husband grew up đ Did I notice on your boarding pass you didn't have TSA Pre-Check? It's totally worth the hassle and money to get it if you are going to be doing any more travel!! đ I think there's even a Global Entry Enrollment center in Nashville. I totally recommend Global Entry then you're set for International travel, too.
SO glad you tried Bartaco while you were in ATL! It is seriously one of my favorite places đ Looks like you had some awesome finds for your shop… adorable!
So fun!! Looks like you've found some adorable things!
