For this week’s Five on Friday, I am talking all things surrounding the fall wardrobe and my personal preferences for this year’s trends. There are some “fads” I will most likely stay away from, but a few that I am embracing, loving, and wanting to share because they work for pretty much everyone! I’m no stylist or guru by any sense of the word, but I know what I like and I attempt to make smart purchasing decisions so I can wear items for seasons to come…
ONE || FRINGE
I could easily get carried away with this season’s biggest trend, fringe, but alas I know I need to keep it simple and not spend too much money on all the goodness I’m seeing in all the stores. My favorites so far include these Talisha Fringe Booties because they are cute, stylish, go with everything, and are budget friendly at $100 [also take 20% off when you sign up for their emails] as well as this Brown Fringe Trim Infinity Scarf for $20. And I’ve exclaimed my obsession over this Fringe Necklace countless times so I think it’s finally a must now that it’s on sale.
TWO || MERLOT AND ALL THINGS VINO
It’s definitely not my favorite varietal of wine, but the color is something I can definitely grab on to this fall. From nails to dark stained lips, I feel like this deep hue is a tone that looks good on all complexions, from fair to dark and everything in between. Loving so many of these “merlot” tones for fall…such a rich color to pair with any neutral!
THREE || ALL THE DRESSES
When it comes to dresses, there are a few specific brands I always seem to gravitate towards… the tried and true staples I know will fit my body shape [small on top with a larger bottom half], wear well, and aren’t too detrimental to the monthly clothing budget and one of those is BB Dakota. I’m loving their fall line with tons of plaid, colorful printed flare silhouettes, and the versatile staple black shift options, too. You can’t go wrong!
FOUR || A LITTLE FAUX FUR
No worries PETA friends… this one isn’t hurting anyone since it’s faux. A little bit of faux fur can go a long way this fall, and it doesn’t hurt that it keeps us toasty warm, too. Even better is that everything I have found for this roundup is under $60 so it’s easy on the wallet, too.
FIVE || THE EVER POPULAR [AND FUNCTIONAL] CROSSBODY BAG
I’ve had my old faithful Tory Burch Crossbody for years now and it’s seen its better days… it definitely served me well, but I am on the hunt for a new black bag and I am hoping I can find one to double as a clutch to take our on date nights, too! I’ve been searching high and low and keep coming back to the Rebecca Minkoff Black Bags since they’re priced well, and I’ve been pleased with the others I have bought in terms of durability, space inside for keeping things organized, and of course the design and practicality. My eye keeps going to this new Fringe Mini Mac Convertible.
