Since last month’s first
Monthly Lineup, I have been trying to keep a running tally of things that are standing out as favorites and such so I wouldn’t have to dig down deep to find some goodies for the September installment. In no particular order, here’s what has been keeping my attention over the past month:
What I’m Reading || The Paris Wife and Community
I finished
Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty and absolutely loved it… her writing style is definitely one of my favorites. For our church small group, we are reading the
Andy Stanley book Community and watching the accompanying DVD when we meet–loving how it challenges you to ask yourself the hard questions and really connect with others. And for my bedside table reading, I am about half-way through
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, which is about Ernest Hemingway and his wife Hadley Richardson. It is REALLY good and I would highly suggest reading it…especially if you love the 20’s and historical fiction.
What I’m Drinking || Apple Cider Moscow Mules
It’s my favorite thing to drink as of late especially with the best copper mug, and it’s one where you don’t have to worry about measuring because the concoction is just too simple to mess up… and the seasonal addition of the apple cider is just PERFECT for fall. Recipe via The Glitter Guide
What I’m Watching || Ladies of London and Cinderella
Let’s be honest… I might have been just as excited as the girls when the
new Cinderella came out on DVD last week. Popcorn + blankets + a girls’ night in is ALWAYS a must in our house and since daddy was out of town all weekend, that’s just what we did! And of course the crazy Brits are back with Season 2 of Bravo’s Ladies of London and I’m obsessed again already… they are just too much, but in the best way possible! Jeff and I also watched the premiere of Blood and Oil on ABC last night… it got our attention, but let’s see how long this one stays in our Sunday night lineup.
What I’m Wearing || All Things Black
You can never go wrong with Johnny Cash’s signature color… especially when it’s been rather drab and dreary in Nashville the past week. I wasn’t even on the hunt for some new
black strappy pretties, but once I tried them on, I was done and they had to come home with me. And this AMAZINGLY
versatile black blouse was just $35 so it was a must-have staple to add to the fall wardrobe. And of course if you’re on the prowl for the perfect black jean,
check out this roundup of favorites.
What I’m Craving || Autumn Kale Salad
What do you get when you add kale + pumpkin seeds + cranberries with apple cider vinaigrette? DELICIOUSNESS! Check out
this tasty autumn salad from Everyday Occasions. Lucky for me, all I had to buy was fresh kale since I had all the other ingredients… this one is a winner!
What I’m Planning || Christmas Village
Just a little more than a month to go until the annual
Christmas Village Shopping Event here in Nashville! I can’t lie, I am anxious, nervous, and scared all rolled into one as this will be the first time
Sugar Bit has a booth for this HUGE holiday marketplace. I was honored to have been selected to participate this year and I cannot wait to connect with so many of our local friends and shoppers… and Nashville friends, if any of you watch More at Midday on Channel 4, watch for us to be featured in a roundup of some of this year’s vendors!
What I’m Loving || Weekends Full of Fun
Weekends in the fall are ALWAYS jam packed… never a dull moment! From Disney on Ice with my little fam this Saturday morning to a trunk show visit to Knoxville on Sunday, then back to Ktown for the UT/GA matchup the following weekend, plus Bell Buckle and Halloween festivities, this next month is sure to be filled with so many festivities… I don’t want to wish for any of it to go by so quickly because fall truly is THE best.
So tell me… what made your list of happies for September??
Oh that apple cider moscow mule is in my dreams! I'll be having one promptly after I have this baby! Great list!
Those shoes, oh my word!
