the monthly lineup: november 2015

Goodness gracious I’m over here in a tizzy… November has passed us by, and yet I am just now getting the chance to play catch-up with my latest installment of the monthly edit! I am certain you’ve been waiting for it, right?!?!? 😉

I’ve been a huge fan of Liane Moriarty’s other two books that I have read [Big Little Lies and The Husband’s Secret] but I have to be honest and say I had a difficult time getting into What Alice Forgot. I think it’s just taking me a bit longer to really connect to the story and not get distracted, but I am more than 1/2 way through and now I’m really interested. I’m also skimming through my newest coffee table read, All in Good Taste, by the fabulous Kate Spade: which is devoted to all things for the modern hostess… perfect for upcoming parties we’re throwing! P.S. Any other good books I need to be scoping out for December? 

It’s been a hectic month to say the least. Between Christmas Village and prepping for Thanksgiving and all the other misc. events that had our calendar yet again overloaded, it seems my go-to uniform consisted of staple jeans from my go-to brand, tops and blouses via here and here, my faithful booties [in two different colors of course], and any type of cardigan//jacket [style: glory]//vest I could get my hands on. Layers so I can “change” via the crazy weather here in Tennessee. I also snatched this BB Dakota Duda Vest on major sale on Black Friday and was pumped as it was 50% off… SCORE!

I’ve recently stocked up on some new winter feet essentials from Kushyfoot, including their tights [the ribbed ones are my fav] and peep toe covers [for dressy shoes that help keep my feet from aching]. I’ve bragged about this brand before and their new fall styles don’t disappoint! 

I’ve been a maniac this past week doing as much shopping as I can so that I could count myself ahead of the game in terms of playing Santa for our family. Jeff and the girls are done, and most of our family has been crossed off the list and I am hoping to finish this next week so I can get to wrapping. This year, I’m going with a gold, black, and red color scheme [see here, here, and here for wrapping paper] Ahhhh… one of my favorite things to do is sit down and take my time wrapping presents… yes, I am weird, I know. 

I am co-hosting our Christmas Bunco Party next week and I am trying to incorporate as many cranberry goodies into our menu as possible… I still love Fly Through Our Window’s Tart and Tangy Cranberry Marshmallow Salad and this Blue Cheese Tart with Cranberry Sauce would make a stellar app! 

I told you about this AMAZING find this summer from Emjoi, and now they have gone and done it again, this time for the hands! It’s easy to use, compact enough for travel, and I’ve actually been using it on the girls and they think they’re in the real nail salon when I bring it out. If I am in a hurry and don’t have time to head to get my nails done, the Micro-Nail makes it easy for me to trim my nails while my polish is on. P.S. this could be a REALLY good stocking stuffer, too!

As if there was ever a doubt, it’s all holiday all the time in our home, car, Pandora on my laptop, and iPhones as of now until after Christmas! Favorites on the constant rotation include classic holiday tunes from Barbra Streisand, Elvis, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, and newer editions that have been added into our lineup from Harry Connick Jr, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, and Michael Buble. 

Vanderpump Rules + Real Housewives of Beverly Hills + Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce have all recently debuted their newest seasons and I’m hooked on Bravo, per usual. Andy Cohen sure knows what he is doing and I don’t miss these favorites!! Comedy, humor, fashion, and a way to spend a night on the couch or in the bed is alright by me 🙂
