Each year, I write you a little note… a birthday message just so one day you’ll have something to look back on [and me when my memory fades] to see how much you have grown and changed throughout the years since you were entered this world.
I can still remember the day you debuted so vividly, what I did that Friday before, what Jeff and I got for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, calling my Mom to tell her we thought it was “time”, what I wore to the hospital, what I felt in those hours before you arrived, how I longed to meet you and hold you in my arms the moment your cries rang out… it was one of the most memorable and truly best days of my life, and every day after has been even better with you as my daughter my Sweet Caroline.
Where do we start with this year’s update? You have grown so much that it’s hard to keep track… it’s all absolutely amazing and I am blown away by the questions you ask, by the way you love to wear a maxi dress EVERY SINGLE DAY, by the way you’ve really taken to ballet, how generous and innately kind you are, and how you are turning into quite a beautiful young lady, both inside and out.
I know everyone thinks their children are smart, but you continue to amaze us with your learning retention, your ability to remember things from months ago, and your love of reading books, singing songs, dancing, and wanting to be active and outside as much as possible.
I am probably spoiling you rotten by letting you sleep with me when daddy is out of town, but I don’t care and I know I will never look back and regret snuggling with you in the mornings and holding onto you at night… the days are long, but the years are short my Tuttie and I am savoring this season as much as I possibly can.
In terms of your favorites, you still love all things purple and blue, Cinderella, nightgowns, any movie [especially Minions, Mary Poppins, and The Little Mermaid], you love to help cook [my adorable sous chef], and puzzles and board games are still a daily favorite to occupy our time!
Your best friend Annie is still your go-to companion, although to see you sharing and taking your sister under your wing is the absolutely the sweetest thing ever… not to mention you have recently mastered the Lord’s Prayer and to hear you recite that each night before bedtime is nothing short of perfection and God’s grace working on your heart already!
Other things worth noting include your love of pancakes and toaster strudel, yogurt smoothies, bananas and oranges, chicken nuggets, turkey and cheese sandwiches, peanut butter, strawberry ice cream [with sprinkles of course], and I think Pappy has passed his love of ketchup to you too as it’s your condiment of choice!
So many fun events coming up over the next few months including our annual family beach trip AND Disney World and getting to experiences these firsts with you is a dream come true CC… I am forever lucky to be your Mom and I love you the most in the whole world, forever and always. Thank you for making me a mommy my little lucky charm! OXOX

Oh wow, I can't believe she is FOUR!! When did this happen? It goes by so fast.
I know you probably love every age, but let me tell you, four has been my absolutely most fun, "bestest-ever" age. Georgia has been a blast – they learn and do and grow so much in this year, it's really when they develop as their own little person. You're going to love it. đ
