It was five years ago today that I walked down that aisle and met you to become one…husband and wife. Five years ago that we spoke those solemn vows in front of our family and friends and I knew right then life would never be the same. There we were, a couple of kids at just 27, madly in love and excited for what was to come. If I could have predicted what the next five years would look like, I wouldn’t have waited so long to marry you…
Half a decade later, I’m more in love with you than ever and these five years have taught me than I ever dreamed I could learn in a lifetime… through the birth of two beautiful children, starting a small business, the moving from our first home to our forever home, to travel and renovations and obstacles thrown in our way, through sickness and health, my life would be incomplete without you.
Today I celebrate the amazing father, husband, and best friend I have found in you. I am so proud to be your wife, of your selflessness to your family and friends, of your work ethic, of your strength and character, and your determination to always do what’s right.
Nothing makes my heart melt more than to see you with Caroline and Carson… reading books each night, helping brush their teeth, teaching them your favorite sports, learning the ins and outs of all the Disney princesses, the list goes on and on. This parenting adventure and season of life has been a whirlwind of emotions, and I am thankful to get the opportunity to experience it with you by my side.
We’re a team.. and that will never change. I know that you will continue to teach me and love me through the good and the bad, no matter what gets thrown our way. Our marriage is far from perfect, but it just keeps getting better and better and I look forward to what comes our way these next five years.
Happy Anniversary!!! Such a beautiful letter and what an AMAZING 5 years!
