First thing’s first… I will go ahead and apologize upfront for posting endless vacation beach pics as I was just elated at our solo trip status!! If you haven’t been to Turks and Caicos, call your travel agent immediately and book a trip… it was hands down the best beach we’ve visited and we already mentioned going back again because there was so much we still want to see and do.
I will try to make this trip recap clear and concise, especially for those looking for travel tips. I’ve broken down places we visited/restaurants we ate at to help find that information easily.
Wednesday | Mostly spent traveling, we arrived island-side around 2:30PM. It wasn’t too busy since we were in the middle of the week, which made for easy in and out with customs and getting our luggage. Our travel agent had already booked us a car to take us to the resort so that was an added convenience as well. We arrived at the Gansevoort and they greeted us with rum punch cocktails = my kind of service. One thing that stood out was the friendliness of the staff throughout our stay and we absolutely loved our accommodations, a 1 Bedroom Oceanfront Villa.
That afternoon, we ate lunch at the beach grille, Zest, and then got dressed for dinner at Stelle… the food was amazing! I had the Beef Rendang and Jeff ate the Banana Wrapped Grouper and it was too sweet because a couple sitting near us got engaged over dinner… I guess love was in the air?!?!?!
Thursday | We started off with an early breakfast before heading down to the beach… relaxing in chairs, taking in the scenery, and strolling up and down the beach before leaving the resort and taking a taxi to Da Conch Shack for lunch. This local hotspot is famous on and off the island and we loved it… bayside dining right where they catch conch daily, great cocktails, and oh so relaxing. They were filming an episode of British House Hunters while we ate so it was fun to get a peak at their TV process… we also scooped up handmade conch bracelets for the girls, too! P.S. order the conch fritters and conch salad = OH so great!
That afternoon, we headed to the pool to lounge, read, and indulge in some fruity drinks before taking a nap before dinner… ahhhh, I could get used to afternoon naps 😉
Thursday night, we went to Coyaba, which was probably my favorite place that we ate on our trip. Their mushroom ravioli was out of this world good and Jeff and I decided we had to have dessert… the Banana Caramel Xango was hands down the best dessert I’ve tasted in awhile.
Friday | More all day fun in the sun… there is truly nothing like it. We spent most of the day by the pool because of the gusty winds, but walked over to the Somewhere Cafe for lunch, which had amazing tacos and a great ambiance. We had reservations that night at Seven, which had been recommended by our friends… the Duo of Yellow Fin Tuna appetizer was by far the best bites and their fresh Caipirinha cocktails made me a bit more mellow 😉
Saturday | We may have turned into celeb stalkers as a certain Jenner [who models for Victoria’s Secret] was found to be staying at our resort… not sure who was more excited, me or Jeff… haha. And yes, we walked by her two times and she is just as pretty in person, though their group was trying to lay low so we stayed away as best we could given the circumstances. That day, we headed to the local shops, the Salt Mills, to find some souvenirs… adorable handpainted ornaments, a conch Christmas tree ornament, and some gold pineapple necklaces for the girls. That night, we met some of our new NYC friends at Infiniti Bar and Restaurant for dinner at the Grace Bay Club. For our final night on the island, the views, the food and beverages, and our new-found friends from Manhattan made for a late night… it was a high note for sure!
Sunday | Luckily for us, we had a mid-afternoon flight off the island, so we were able to get a late checkout, and spent our time taking it easy that morning with a leisurely breakfast, then plenty of time to pack up before heading to have one last bite of conch before jet setting back to reality. Let’s just try to forget the 2.5 hours spent in customs in Atlanta and we’ll call it complete. Insert sad face because I want to go back again… I think the travel bug has hit me again!

Holy moly!! This may be our 10th anniversary trip. I cannot imagine how good that must have felt to relax like that for several days with Jeff. SO fun! Glad y'all had a good time. Love you!
we had the BEST time… and yes, this would be the perfect spot for that big 10 year celebration friend!! OXOX
We did the Gansevoort at Turks & Caicos for our honeymoon and loved it so much. Everyone suggested that we go to Coco Bistro for dinner, and while it was the best atmosphere, I was disappointed in my food, but my husband loved his. Next time ya'll go back definitely try the island tour- riding on a boat with unlimited rum punch & getting off on some island to explore made for a fun trip!
well that just sounds AMAZING and fun!!!!
