Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m fairly certain you’re aware that the BIGGEST sale of the season begins TOMORROW at Nordstrom… it’s Early Access for Nordstrom cardholders for the annual Anniversary Sale, which I’ve detailed in a blog post here.
Having said that, I get overwhelmed with the amount of items to choose from when the sale goes live so I’ve started making a list of the things I actually need versus want so that I can strategize and not overspend and then have buyer’s remorse [are you totally guilty of that too?!?!]. Based on my favs and finds from last year, I’ve made a little checklist below of the sale must-haves and what you should pay attention to:
ONE. The Handbag | Last year, everyone went gaga over totes and satchels and if you’re on the hunt for the perfect fall handbag, this is the time to steal one ON SALE. I am looking for a crossbody style that doubles as a satchel and will be snatching up one bright + early Thursday morning!! Thinking a versatile, neutral color so that it goes with everything in my closet = more bang for my buck.
TWO. Jackets + Outerwear | I know it’s 1,000 degrees outside, but this sale ALWAYS has incredible deals on outerwear, jackets and coats. Last year, I scored the famous Madewell Utility Jacket and I’m looking for another lightweight style this season as well… I’ll also be on the hunt for a bright and colorful statement dressy coat = fingers crossed I find something bold!
THREE. Boots + Booties | My number one pick from last year, the Vince Camuto bootie… I loved them so much I bought them in two colors. This time, I’m on the hunt for some knee-high boots in a cognac or dark brown hue and then of course a new bootie [or two] to pair with jeans and dresses. This is where you should shop first as they sell out QUICKLY!
FOUR. Denim | I’m a sucker for a good pair of designer jeans and I usually don’t mind spending $150-200 on a pair, simply because they are longlasting and something I wear every single day [#momiform]. Having said that, I’ll be looking for some semi-boot/flare cut styles, a few destructed options, as well as an updated skinny silhouette so I promise to hunt down the best in denim and share different pricepoints, washes, brands, etc.
FIVE. Workout Wear | For my other trick, I’ll be sure to grab the best of the best in terms of everything active and athleisure… also known as what I wear the other days of the week when I’m not wearing jeans ;). Zella is a favorite brand of mine that’s exclusive to Nordstrom, so I have a feeling the selection will be amazing on this end. And yes, I’ll find some new kicks for hitting up the gym as well [favs are usually Adidas and Nike on that end].
SIX. Basics + Layering Essentials | Yes, fall and winter are all about the layering, so I have a feeling you’ll be like me and stocking up on all the basic tees and tops, as well as sweaters and cardigans [from Halogen, BP, Hinge, Gibson and more]. I’m looking for a few new tshirts, longer tunics, cardigans/wraps/sweaters and praying I don’t suffocate from heat exhaustion in the dressing rooms–haha.
SEVEN. Beauty | Oh yes, I LOVE to splurge on some amazing beauty finds, especially in the form of hair tools and high-end beauty gadgets [last year I scored the T3 hair dryer during the sale]. This was a big category for a lot of you out there as well and this year I am looking for a new signature fragrance, a few new lip colors, and possibly a few new makeup applicators and brushes!
EIGHT. Accessories | Fall is king when it comes to accessories for this gal… give me all the hats, scarfs and baubles I can plaster on and this sale has no shortage of any of these. Favorites from last year included ponchos, wool wide brim hats, sunglasses and everyday jewels so stay tuned to see all my finds!
Now this gal has got to knock out a hefty to-do list today… planning to call it an early night, wake up at 3AM to place my initial Anniversary Sale order and then head to my local Nordstrom at 10AM to let the fun begin [and yes, this is better than Christmas to me!!]
