Hey FIVE ON FRIDAY!!! I know it’s been awhile, but I thought it was the perfect opportunity to talk about five things occupying my mind before we head straight into the weekend [YIPPEE]… it’s been another jam-packed week of craziness in the Stoneking home,–shocking I know–but the next few days look super relaxing and restful, all thanks to Mimi and Pappy hosting the girls for weekend getaway, grandparent style.
ONE | Pray for the Panhandle
I can’t get hurricane Michael out of my head. I’ve been watching the news and weather updates over the past few days and I am so thankful that so many areas received less destruction and damage than they originally planned for, but with that comes sadness that so many other destinations [Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach and others] took the brunt of the hurricane. I have actively been looking for ways to help donate necessary supplies and necessities for these families so please let me know if you hear of any organizations looking for assistance. Sweet mama and 30A blogger Jami has also created a page on her blog to share some of the ways to help so you can find that HERE. We are headed back to Rosemary Beach for fall break next week and my heart just aches for those communities who will have to take months and months to pick up the pieces from this dreadful storm.
TWO | Striped Style on Sale
You heard that right… I said MAJOR sale alert over here!!! I wore this little striped ensemble the other day paired with a cardigan and it was the perfect fall transition outfit… even better, it’s 40% off right now, making it just $65. It’s fully stocked in all sizes so if you have any travel coming up, it makes for a fun outfit for vacation as well!
THREE | My Babies… Fall Fashion and Grandparent Fun
Goodness, gracious… I thought I would have a hard time finding cute ensembles for the girls now that I don’t have Sugar Bit, but let’s just say they are in safe hands this fall and winter with all the cuteness I’ve been shopping online! And yes, all these layered up ensembles have me SUPER excited that fall weather is officially here. Bring on the pumpkin patches, apple cider, cool temps and family fun. They had grandparent’s night at school yesterday and they couldn’t wait to take their Mimi and Pappy with them to meet their teachers, check out the book fair and of course give them the special arts and crafts they had been working on. It was absolutely the sweetest thing ever!
Navy Arrow Dress [just $12] | Floral Babydoll Dress [on sale for $8] | Olive Green Ruffled Jackets | Taupe Bow Boots
FOUR | All Things Booties
Speaking of some super cute shoes, I found the holy grail of booties for fall and I love them so much, of course I bought them in not just one, but two colors. They are SO comfy and I love the little peep toe accent with the side stitching accent… and the major win is that they are roomy at the ankle, making your legs look extra good ;). P.S. if you’re looking to purchase, they run TTS.
FIVE | The Soup Nazi
Now that fall temps have invaded our forecast [thank goodness!!], it’s time to bring on the soups in my house–nothing like something warm for cool weather to get me breaking out my dutch oven and cooking up this Sausage and Cheese Tortellini Soup… it’s a fan fav at our house that EVERYONE [yes even my picky eaters] enjoy!
