You didn’t think I forgot about our home reveal, did you?!?!!? I’m checking out of the holiday hustle for a few so we can focus on everything home sweet home! For this go-around, we are staying downstairs, though we are headed to the back of the house where we are constantly coming in and out… otherwise known as the MUDROOM!
Missed the first two room reveals? Check out the Living Room here and Kitchen here.
When Jeff and I started thinking of how we wanted this entryway to function, we knew we wanted storage with doors… basically so you could hide the backpacks, coats, and other “stuff” that no one wants to be seen. Using the space we already had, we were able to create custom built-ins with three individual storage cabinets… one for each of the girls and one for Jeff and I to split. Underneath, there are drawers with extra storage for winter accessories, shoes, sunglasses and other odds and ends.
Then on the opposite end of the mudroom, we had the cabinetry team build two desks that serve as the girls’ “homework stations”… basically, a place for both Caroline and Carson to get their work done, complete crafts, play games on their iPads, etc.
I absolutely love the finished product that Kendall masterfully created… the high lacquer cabinets with brass inlay is my favorite detail, especially when we incorporated the heavy gold hardware and all the brightly colored art and accessories in the desk area.
So take a look at the most fun mudroom ever:
