I think it’s high time we get back to basics around here… sharing more of the everyday/”day in the life” type goodness that makes me proud to post because nothing is more important than family!! As much as I love a good fashion roundup of favorites, nothing brings me more joy than sharing personal milestones like the first day back to school. Or really any sentimental moments of our little foursome. Especially to get me motivated to tackle another work week ahead.
This past Friday, my little ladies officially went back to school! I can’t believe I now have a first AND second grader on my hands and to see how much they’ve grown and flourished over the summer has been incredible to watch as a parent.
First things first, I want to mention their back to school dresses from my good friend and fellow momboss, Anne Walker Brown via Elegant Goods Shop. Her talent to create oh so special embroidered + applique is incredible! She is a true treasure to us. Creating all of our special duds for back-to-school, holiday, Disney, and birthdays for years now. Plus, she always lets me get creative with designs by mixing and matching threads, fonts and designs. Be sure to shop with her next time you’re in need of some personalized pretties! Also, my friend Sarah via Lovely Little Designs created these first day/last day chalkboard signs years ago and they always come out for these pics. She can whip up a sign for you, too!!!
Carson and Caroline go Back to School
Carson Elizabeth | my little one filled to the brim with personality AND so much sass [I know I’m in trouble with that one!]–she was lucky enough to score the same teacher Caroline had last year and we are THRILLED for another year with Mrs. Calhoun… she’s reading like crazy, LOVES spelling and her favorite thing about school is playing with her friends during recess. As of now, Carson says she plans to be a teacher [and a cheerleader-haha] when she grows up!
Caroline Cate | My little science and math loving lady. Oh how I’ve watched her bloom so much these past two years in school. I am just so proud of her! She as over-the-moon happy to get Mrs. McConnell for her second grade teacher, who just happens to be our neighbor–and even more excited when she walked in and saw some of her sweet friends in her class on Friday. Our lucky charm keeps saying she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up and her favorite thing about school is social studies AND getting to play on the 2-5 grade playground this year!!
melt. my. heart
because sometimes the outtakes are adorable, too
And they’re off… new backpacks, lunch boxes and water bottles in tow and all smiles for an exciting school year ahead!
Giving high-fives and hugs to our pal Murray the Mustang [our school Mascot] and
Tate McDaniel welcoming the kiddos with banjo tunes, too!!

As for this mama, it’s not goodbye to seeing my girls all day everyday. Rather, it’s see you later. We all thrive on a schedule and I am super happy school has started again. I’m on the PTO board this year and serving as the co-chair of our school fundraising campaign. So I’ll be at school at least a few days a week working on this big initiative. People tell me I am CRAZY for taking on this role. But I know this brief moment of time when it’s “cool” to have your mom at school won’t last forever. So I am savoring every single second that I can. Making use of my advertising and marketing background to do some good for our incredible school!

YAY for back to school!!! The sweetest little girls and it looks like they have the sweetest teachers…
I think you are doing a wonderful thing being on the PTO – my girls also love having me at school and helping out. Something my Mom never did x
