If it’s one thing I love, it’s all things ORGANIZATION + PURGING… saying adios to items I don’t use, don’t need and simply don’t want and what better time to start than on day 1 of a brand new year–P.S. is anyone else freaking out that not only is it a new year, but a new decade as well??! Yes, I am totally type-A when it comes to anything that has to do with organizing your home; and I get my label maker out whenever I can because that brings me absolute JOY.

When I shared a few spaces/rooms that I was starting to organize via IG stories a few days ago, a ton of you messaged me asking for tips and tricks on how I sort, filter through the clutter and get my house back to “normal” after the holidays so I thought it would be fun to create a daily space challenge for the month of January for us all to execute together = accountability on all fronts so I can stick to this initiative as well.
Organizing Your Home
This doesn’t mean cleaning out your house in one day, it’s one SPACE/DRAWER/ETC each day so as not to overwhelm ourselves… come on and join with me, you can totally do this! Here’s the helpful play-by-play calendar I created. Save it to your photos, use as your background on your phone, you get the gist–a little a day is going to add up to a lot of unnecessary “stuff” being thrown out, donated, gifted to friends and family and ultimately leaving your house:
We are starting small AKA the kitchen junk drawer. You know, that one drawer that just collects ANYTHING and everything. Mine is like Mary Poppins’ bag and I clean mine out monthly because some little hands usually leave slime, candy wrappers, random papers from school and other junk in there… you’ve got this!
So set your alarm and mark your calendar to tackle the mayhem and clean out the clutter–I promise you’ll feel lighter + happier when you do this and I’ll be taking you along for the ride with loads of stories on my favorite organizational must-haves and tips and tricks I’ve learned to help master the mess. Stay tuned for weekly blog posts to get us through the challenge and maybe a few special guests as well! AND I would love to see what you’re doing so use the hashtag #hellohappinessorganization and/or tag me @nashvilletash via Instagram so I can see your organization hacks…
Now, before we get started… here are a few things I NEVER start cleaning without! Trust me, they all make life better and help to craft a spic + span happy house:
Also, here are my top 5 tricks and mindless info for how to keep a HAPPY + CLEAN + ORGANIZED house:
