Hey there friends… happy Monday!!! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–I’ll be bringing you daily doses of HAPPINESS for the foreseeable future. Recapping cheerful moments and experiences from recent [HEALTHY] times in the hopes that I can offer a bit of a distraction from the current hiatus we are currently experiencing. With that being said, I’m really excited be sharing Caroline’s mermaid squad sleepover party at Gaylord Soundwaves for her 8th Birthday!
I’ve had a lot of you asking for a recap of Caroline’s 8th birthday party–a mermaid squad get together with her besties and a super special sleepover and water park afternoon of fun at Gaylord Soundwaves here in Nashville. I’ve had a ton of friends take their families over the past year and RAVED about how amazing it was that we have this facility in our backyard to take advantage of and I cannot tell you how great this park truly is.

Top to bottom, they give you the warmest welcome–literally and figuratively, too. The indoor waterpark was made for wintertime excitement for the entire family… it spans 4 acres, 3 floors of fun, and has attractions for the babies, little ones and adults as well. P.S. they also have a huge outdoor area for summertime so keep that in mind when booking your trip– I know we all need something to look forward to right now!!
They supply towels and life vests, and for all you safety patrol peeps [yes, Jeff is included in that group], I was super impressed with how many life guards they have at the park. If you’re looking for a bit more privacy, you can rent cabanas for the day and lockers are available while you’re visiting! We also took in the upstairs eating area for a late lunch and our little ladies totally enjoyed living their best life, complete with pizza + slushies. And for you adults wanting a little space of your own, the third floor boasts an adults-only pool and bar area = WINNING!
We spent the day testing out all the attractions: the Stage Dive Slides, Up Tempo Rapids River, Down Tempo Lazy River [hands down our favorite], the Groovin’ Lagoon Activity Pool, Half Note Cove [the best for kids!] and then watching the brave ones battle the Crowd Surfer Flow Rider. We ran out of time, but SoundWaves also has The Bassment, which includes party rooms, video games and a rock climbing table!

That evening, we checked into our Suite and continued the party throughout the Gaylord Opryland Resort. So many of my favorite childhood memories include walking through the hotel, taking a ride along the Delta, checking out the lights during Christmas = and seeing it through my girls’ eyes now is even more special! A definite must-stay when you come to Music City. The girls begged for Solario Cantina for dinner so we filled up on all the queso, chips and quesadillas before bringing out the birthday cake and presents!! Nadia B Bakes here in Nashville created the most GORGEOUS custom mermaid cake for our sweet girl… funfetti flavored and absolutely incredible to look at = almost too pretty to eat!

It’s safe to say our girl was living her best life in every sense of the word and they passed out by 10PM… that’s another win in the book of parenting with 4 girls with you!! Of course, our sweet EIGHT year old got to pick her post-party breakfast and she wanted nothing more than the grandness of Waffle House AKA where Pappy always takes her and her sister for dates… only the best for our girls, though you know Jeff and I were in heaven with endless coffee and waffles ;). Hands down, she had the absolute greatest celebration and this mama loved to see her face light up with her besties right beside her the entire time. Definitely come visit Gaylord Opryland + Soundwaves with your crew ASAP.
