I know MANY of you out there have been anxiously awaiting this post… basically my best tips and tricks and specifics on how to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Keep in mind, it’s not live YET and won’t be for another two weeks, BUT you know I’m a type-A planner all the way and must get all the details lined up so I can tackle the sale come Debut Day!
And yes, there are lots of changes this year, so stay tuned for everything you want to know to save big, shop early and get set for fall:
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
EVERYONE gets to preview ALL sale items this year–beginning TODAY, JULY 24th. This means you can bookmark your favorites, make your lists [and check them twice] and save your must-haves to a handy dandy Wish List so you can check out faster! I’m totally excited about this new option, AND they are saving the trees by not printing the catalog this year.

Just as in previous years, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale access is based on your shopping “status” within The Nordy Club, and your level is dependent on how much $$$ you spend throughout the year= the higher your status, the earlier you shop. I’ve included this graphic below so you’ll know exactly when you can shop the sale, so set those alarms!! In store shopping will be during normal business hours AND online shopping begins at 9:30AM ET/6:30AM PT.
Jeff and I do a significant amount of shopping throughout the year at Nordstrom, so we have “Ambassador” access this go-around. Seriously, if your guy likes to shop, this is when my hubs stocks up on anything and everything apparel and shoes because of the incredible savings… so, we will get to shop on Friday, August 7th! As you can see, ICONS get the early bird’s eye view of all the goodness and then afterwards it’s time for the INFLUENCERS and INSIDERS to get their shot. If you’re unsure of your level, you can access this info on your Nordstrom Account online!
ALSO… I do have to insert this caveat: if you’re a Nordstrom card holder, this allows you the advantage to shop early… I use my Nordstrom debit card [which sadly they no longer offer], but just be smart about your purchases and pay your card off immediately [I’m not advocating going into debt for a sale… now or ever!!] I always set a budget for how uch I plan to spend during this sale and once that $$$ is spent, I am done–this is also why I’m listing my favorite categories to shop below so you’ll know what to grab!
P.S. If you’re not a Nordstrom Card Holder, you get access on August 19th so you can still take advantage of the sale, but note A LOT of the items will most likely be sold out by that date.
I’ve been going through the catalog this morning, bookmarking my favs and must-shop items so that way I’ll know EXACTLY what I want to spend my funds on once the sale is live. Here are a few of the things I plan to shop first and foremost:
Keep in mind you want to think of long-term wearability, things you can’t live without, and items that sell out quickly. A few more brands I always focus on:
Barefoot Dreams | I ALWAYS buy this first because of the high sell out risk. Cardigans and blankets are my go-to
Madewell | Always a favorite for basics + denim… their skinny jeans from last year topped the list as my best selling staple
Gibson | You know I love me some Gibson! I got to see some of the separates in store for this year’s sale this week, and it’s the epitome of everyday work-from-home attire and loungewear = sold!
Zella | Nordstrom-made and INCREDIBLE for all the active! Think tights, sports bras, tanks and jackets, for men + women + kids too
Tucker + Tate | My favorite in-house brand for the girls… seriously cute dresses, tops and fall essentials they can wear to school and on the weekends and doesn’t break the budget
Free People | No sale is complete without a little FP–their oversized sweaters are ALWAYS on my list
Finally, get set for Anniversary Sale success with my checklist:
