Did you know that TIN is the traditional gift when you celebrate a 10 year wedding anniversary?? What a play on words, huh… Yeah, I didn’t either until I googled it a few months ago when I started thinking of what I wanted to do for Jeff for this big anniversary. It’s just a hint as to what we are doing today, but I can’t give it all away quite yet!!
10 Year Wedding Anniversary
10 whole years… how can that be?? I started by going down the rabbit hole of wedding recaps and pictures from June 11, 2011 and it’s safe to say I got a little teary-eyed looking back at one of the best days of my life. We look like BABIES and it’s crazy to see how much we’ve accomplished over this last decade as husband and wife. I took a vow to love and honor that day and it’s one I still hold close to my heart. Marriage is demanding and tough, but ours has been filled with so much joy and happiness that I am excited to tackle our next 10 together and see what comes our way.
I live by the sentiment of FAMILY FIRST and I hope Jeff knows that still rings true, even after all we’ve been through. That day we started our little family and a little more than 9 months later came our first little princess Caroline Cate. I remember it like it was yesterday, sitting in our house in Sylvan Park with a three month old eating the top layer of our wedding cake as we celebrated our first anniversary and I thought “life can’t get better than this’. But oh yes it can… because the next June we were blessed with our second little sassy thing, Carson Elizabeth.
Parenthood = goodness it’s been a rollercoaster. With two under two I felt like we’d never get our head above water, but I remember once they were both potty trained thinking we had hit a major milestone and I knew our family was complete.
When I look back at the past 3650 days, I’m reminded of God’s promise and how much my trust in Him brought us together. It hasn’t always been easy and Lord knows there have been days where we’ve driven each other crazy [like working from home for over a year together due to COVID–LOL] but there isn’t anyone else in this world I’d want to share my life with.
I hope you know–now and into the future–how much JOY and HAPPINESS you fill me with. I look to you for comfort and love, protection and safety, guidance and wisdom, but most of all, you’re my best friend.
I’m so proud of you and not only the incredible father you are, but for the wonderful husband, too… I have no doubt your dad is looking down on you and smiling big today because of the man he helped to mold into one of the best out there. You’d do anything for anyone and you’ve got a heart of gold and I’m lucky to get to experience your greatness day in and day out.
10 years down, I pray for 50+ more, just like my grandparents. I look to them for what makes for a successful marriage and above all, it’s knowing you’re stronger together as a unit than as an individual, working hard, investing in your children, but yet again, family first.
I love you with all that I am, Jeff. I am proud to be your wife and today I celebrate the man I married, the love of my life, you.
Forever and always, OXOX Tat
