I have a confession… I am not a fan of the “shacket”. There, I said it and I know I cannot take it back. I’m not sure what it is–the oversized styling, the thick material or maybe it’s just the term in general, but it’s not my jam.
And now that I got that off my chest, I am not trying to ruffle any feathers because I believe everyone should wear what they want AND feel most comforable in, but for me, I’ll be sticking to the tried and true button up fall plaid instead throughout the next few months. And if you’re one for jumping on the plaid train, I’ve got a few new finds that won’t break the budget and will keep you toast warm in your favorite kind of everyday ensemble.
Fall Plaid Favorites:
First up, the Lana Top [wearing XS/runs TTS] by way of Thread and Supply. This perfect plaid checks off all the musts in terms of its lightweight fabric, classic plaid color in all the muted hues, and it features a button front closure AND shirt tail hem.
And if you’re looking for a layered-up type of OOTD, be sure to check out their best-selling Vita Jacket. A sell out each season, this longer length cardi coat comes in a handful of colors, and keeps you cute + cozy for any occasion. I love the front pockets + soft collar and it runs TTS/wearing XS.
Ready for another option?? Here comes the Rowena Top, another stand out with its asymmetrical hem, raw seaming for a bit of rough and tough and an oversized fit that’s always forgiving. Again, this one runs TTS/wearing XS for reference.
You already know I’m gaga for these destructed Maggie Jeans and they are the perfect bottom to pair with the button up above. Midrise with a wider leg frayed hem = you’ll want them in every single color I assure you of that. And at just $78, you’ll be thrilled to find them fully stocked in all the sizes [they run a bit snug/no stretch so I snagged a 26].
Now the third time could TOTALLY be the charm by way of this Plaid Ruffle Top [30% off with code FEELGOOD] from my love Loft. This one just launched online and its combination of the ruffled neck + puffed shoulders ensure it’s effortless and eternally polished, too. And the aqua colorway is totally out of the traditional so you’ll stand out in the right way this season in COLOR. And I’m wearing an XS in this cuteness!
Want to make the ensemble a full head-to-toe look? Run to stock up on these Straight Corduroy Pants in a handful of rich cool hues you’ll want to wear on the daily [run TTS/wearing size 25]. And then finish it off with this winter Sherpa Sling Bag… the essential carryall made for keeping your hands free AND it’s a seasonal steal [and makes a stellar gift option] for under $70.
