Long time coming… this post took some time to craft and create, but I hope this helps lots of you other tween moms out there. Y’all = the struggle is real when it comes to finding cute, age appropriate, not astronomically expensive clothing for our 10-13 year olds.
I feel like I am inundated with options online, though most are either totally made for older teens, are $200 dresses they will only wear once, or don’t come in my girls size offerings. I took to Instagram to ask the professionals their favorites = that’s you… and you all were a HUGE help in finding some new to me small brands + businesses to shop for our gals.
Hoping you can bookmark this magic and it can help save everyone’s sanity on your next tween shopping trip, all while supporting local and small businesses to boot:
Shop Denny’s | You know I love supporting small and this was a recommendation a few of you sent my way. Not only are they a family-run business for more than 40 years, but they outfit your children for every step of their youth. From layette to toddler, big kid to tween and juniors as well, I LOVE their assortment of options. Something my girls and I can all agree on!
Shop In Between | This places gets it! Not only was it started by a mom that has two sweet tweens just like me, she understands the struggle of finding cute and appropriate clothes for girls this age. I know this will be a place that my girls can find so many things that we ALL love which is a total WIN!
Scraps of Magic | This is another find I am SO excited about! It is a place where we all can shop small for our tweens and still get quality pieces that will last us through this super picky stage… they have a little bit of it all.. tops, dresses, shorts and even swim ware for the littles fashionistas in our lives! And yes, I’d wear all of these in my size ;).
Ruth and Naomi | In the search for places that have cute things for the girls, this one caught my attention with the quickness! Not only was it suggested by many of you.. BUT the mission of the business being about tweens and teens finding their confidence and feeling beautiful by being themselves.. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE! They have so many cute finds and I hope all of our little ladies can wear these pieces and feel like their best self!!
Miss Behave Girl | I found a lot of fun soon-to-be-teen options at Miss Behave Girl! This one has a little bit of an “older” look, but still super appropriate and great for finding special occasion/party perfect dresses too! Great prices and quality clothes is the perfect combination! I have a feeling this is a site C + C will have me going back to over and over to look for some new favs each season…
Molly Bracken Girl | I love when a brand I already know and love also have things that my girls can sport as well! Molly Bracken has a great mixture of everything day essentials like t-shirts and jeans as well as things for special occasions + events… plus a little bit of a contemporary, more modern feel to them! We had fun scrolling through their fun clothes together.
Soca Girl | Can we talk about how adorable Soca Girl clothes are?! Some of their pieces might be a little to “cutesy” for almost teenagers… but they still have some fun pieces that tweens will adore. Soca is a one stop shop for all thing girls… clothes, pjs, gifts they have it all. I LOVE their fun colors and prints and they are based in Birmingham, so we may have to take a trip to visit them!
And because I want to leave you with a few others to peruse, check out a handful of other fabulous retailers that were recommended and some of my favorite styles we scooped up for Spring Break, too!
