Summer and reading just go hand in hand… not sure if it’s because our schedule is a little more relaxed during the lazy days of summertime or that we spend a good amount of time lakeside/at the beach/by the pool, but we all read more during the months of June and July [myself included!!]= far less technology is always a good thing in my mind and that goes for kids and adults alike… now if I could only get my husband on board!!

This summer, each of the girls have to read a minimum of three books = thank goodness their school assigns that task so it’s not my rule, it’s theirs, which makes it not my fault too. Each grade in middle school is assigned a specific book to read for their class and then you can select 2+ books to read depending on your favorite subject/genre/etc.
So I went through some of the listed books our school recommends and then added a few personal favorites that I remember reading and loving in middle school and came up with quite a good little list… hope this helps with your middle school readers as well so that you can scoop up some new titles this summer!
