I can’t lie… this was absolutely, hands down, the most fun [and yet still exhausting] day of our Disney vacation. It was our first day at Magic Kingdom, the pinnacle of the trip [as Pappy would say] and it didn’t disappoint.
That morning, we got to the park around 9:30AM, after using the buses and ferryboat to get us over to the park… we took a few pictures on Main Street USA and then headed straight to Cinderella’s Castle for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!
Let me preface this by saying that yes, it was a pricey experience, and one that I doubt we would ever need to do again, but honestly, it was worth every penny to see the joy and excitement on Caroline and Carson’s faces throughout this event and I can’t say enough great things about how special the cast members make it… even the parents got giddy with excitement just watching!
As soon as we checked in, they were escorted to the shopping area so they could pick out their new princess gowns… Carson immediately went to Belle [no surprise there], and Caroline browsed for a few minutes before deciding on Tiana’s gown. From there, the fairy godmother’s escorted us to the dressing areas so they could get changed into their new ensembles and then the real magic started… they selected their hairstyles and they got to work! From there, they got their makeup and nails done and once their transformation to princesses was complete, we were able to take professional pictures so commemorate the special occasion!
Afterwards, we headed to lunch at Cinderella’s Royal Table to dine with the princesses in their best attire… the girls were thrilled to get to meet and greet so many of their favorites AND the adults enjoyed a relaxing, sit down dining experience! They make it super special at this dining event so be sure to book it early… especially if you’re trying to coordinate it with the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
After lunch, we walked to Fantasyland to start our FastPasses… first we took on Peter Pan’s Flight, followed by It’s a Small World, and then Pappy, Jeff, and I rode the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Once we finished our first three FastPasses, I was able to log in the MyDisneyExperience App on my phone and we then got additional FastPasses for a few other rides that day [like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and The Mad Tea Party, making it so easy to knock out a ton of the attractions we wanted to do without having to wait in long lines.
That evening, we had a Quick Service Dinner at Pinocchio Village Haus, due to a rain shower, which had pizza that made the girls happy, but otherwise I would skip it… haha.
Finally, we headed towards Main Street so we could get in place for the Electrical Parade! Mimi and I had packed a ton of glowsticks/necklaces/bracelets and such so we decked ourselves out before the parade started and made sure we had a front row seat for the festivities… the girls LOVED the parade and of course us adults did, too!! Finally, we headed out toward the park exit to watch the 9PM fireworks before taking the buses back to the hotel. And yes, the girls passed out before we ever made it home… a successful day for sure!
A few more tips and advice:
1. Wear comfy shoes, it’s a MUST, I promise… and make sure you break in shoes before wearing them to Disney. I might have ended up with a little blister, which made it a little painful by the time we left the park.
2. As hot as it was [in the 90s most days which was a bit warmer than usual], I was glad I wore a comfy, breathable dress for our longest day… especially a darker color to avoid those dreaded spills and such that are GOING to happen when you travel with little ones. This by far was the comfiest choice for the trip!
3. Bring your own glowsticks… we bought ours from the dollar store beforehand, which saved us a ton of money!!!
4. Its going to rain–I assure you of that. Late afternoon rain showers in Orlando are completely normal, so come prepared… we packed ponchos in our backpacks and it paid off big time, not having to buy the ones at the park and not having to scramble last minute once the rain started. One thing we didn’t have was a stroller cover [note to self to buy one] so we made our own with extra ponchos.
5. If you are planning your Disney trip in advance, ask family members to purchase Disney gift cards for your kids to spend while at the park for their birthdays/Christmas/etc. It was great that Mimi and Pappy had given the girls these to have to spend on souvenirs and such and it gave them something to look forward to as well.

looks like a great time, we did the Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique twice on the cruise, to a sum of over $300 Wow! yeah, if we do it again, we will only do it once. LOL

Oh my word! The girls looked so adorable all done up! The BBB was the highlight of our Disney trip last year as well. I loved the photo shoot they did afterward! So worth the money!

So much fun!! We are headed there in a little over a month so this is getting me all kinds of excited! Question, did you take a big camera for all of your pictures? Trying to decide if I want to chance it with my nice camera.
so… my dad brought his DSLR camera which was GREAT to have on hand, but yet i didn't have to carry it around. if i were you, i would do the photopass/memorymaker and then use your phone for other images IF space is an issue 🙂
