Happy Valentine’s Day my friends!!! I wanted to hop on here today to do a little check-in and of course to give you all big hugs and my well wishes for a sweet day ahead….whether you’re celebrating with your best friend over glasses of rose, spoiling your kiddos silly with extra hugs and candy, taking on the town with your beau in tow, or laying low and watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in your best pajamas, I want to let you know how much you’re loved!

Happy Valentine’s Day:

Since I’ve been in this social media world for almost 11 years now [holy moly I am showing my age here!], I just want you to know how truly thankful I am for each and every one of you out there that take the time to read my blog, that listen to my Instagram stories, that comment on my fun collabs and partnerships, and especially for those of you that open up and share details of your life with me as well.

I don’t take that honor lightly and I know this platform has so many endless possibilities for doing good, inspiring others, lifting each other up, fighting for a common purpose–you feel me?!?! I know it’s diving a little bit deeper into the “real” stuff and scratching more than just the surface, but its the truth and I am making a vow to continue to post the good [and bad when necessary], to sharing the inspirational quotes that fuel me to be my very best and to keep showing things that I love in the hopes that they make your days a little bit happier + brighter, too.

In our house, we call this the Hallmark holiday but it does help put things in perspective and to remember to show AND tell the people you love just how special they are and how much you value them in your world. We get SO wrapped up in our own lives that we often miss that unique opportunity to tell someone how incredible they are and I am challenging you to share that sentiment with at least ONE person that you love today.

Our church is doing a series on determining your child’s love language and trying to understand what makes them feel most loved and it’s been so eye opening to see what fills my love tank is not necessarily what does it for Caroline and/or Carson. I sat down with Jeff the other night and we talked through each of our daughters’ and what makes them feel special, what brings them joy, and what lights up their eyes.

For Caroline, hands down her love language is touch–my oldest baby would love nothing more than to be held and cuddled up with on the couch, followed by words of affirmation. She is a people pleaser by nature just like her mama, and so I have to mentally check myself on how I interact and show my love and admiration for her so that it best suits HER needs, and not necessarily mine.

As for my little nugget Carson, that baby is all about some quality time together. If she could be attached to my hip 24/7, she would say yes in a heartbeat, as long as it meant that she got to be with me each and everyday. As for her secondary love language, I’d say that belongs to all things gifts. She not only enjoys receiving gifts, but LOVES to give to others as well… she has given out 3 rounds of valentine’s day cards to her classmates at school and her kind heart to give will serve her well.

Anyways, this was something that really intrigued me and it was on my heart to share today as we are talking about all things love. This mama is headed to tackle her day, run around like crazy picking up a few last minute goodies and then we have a family fun date night out tonight to celebrate this special day of sweet sentiments and love.
