Back for round
2 of the link-up party, this time focusing on the day prior to the wedding…the
rehearsal dinner!
We wanted a
simple, southern laidback evening with our closest friends and family to
kick-off our wedding weekend, and working with a Nashville staple, Mere Bulles,
turned out to be a fabulous decision.
We started cocktail
hour as soon as our guests arrived, complete with passed hors d’oeuvres, and
then sat down for a tasty three-course dinner topped off by the best strawberry
cake you could imagine {seriously, yes, that was my favorite part!}. What followed after
dinner was a sentimental slideshow of pictures throughout our lives and then
the sweetest toasts from friends and family.
It was a gorgeous
summer evening, surrounded by those we loved the most. Though the week was such
a blur filled with endless amounts of hustle and bustle, it was nice to sit
back and relax and enjoy everything that was to come!
Here is a look
at some of my favorites from that night:
My advice: your
rehearsal dinner is a time to enjoy the fruits of all your hard work, so enjoy
it! This is the start of the best day of your life and if you see or hear of a
little mistake here and there, so be it…we had a few snafoos, but thanks to a
fabulous MOH and bridesmaids, they handled it for me and everything was OK.
And, incorporate fun details into this event as well-this will give your guests
a “sneak peak” of what to expect for the wedding and really set your evening
apart from others {i.e. fun way to showcase place cards, custom table numbers, personalized cocktail napkins, etc}.
Great advice! I think a lot of brides forget to enjoy every moment. You look gorgeous in your photos! I love that you wore a white dress. 🙂

My rehearsal dinner was a gong show. I almost threw up during the actual rehearsal and then I was in a FOUL mood during the dinner. It was definitely a case of nerves – on my wedding day I was completely fine, which is the weirdest part 🙂
On the other hand, your rehearsal looks gorgeous! That strawberry cake looks delish!
That strawberry cake DOES look delicious!
My hubby's family planned our rehearsal dinner so it was extremely low-key and "their" style. I didn't mind that it didn't really incorporate any of our wedding stuff- bc I knew the real fun was the next day! 🙂
New follower! April and Christina were talking about your blog last night at our dinner when we were going around the room saying our favorite blogs! I cannot wait to read more! I have a feeling tonight is going to be wine night and catching up up all I've missed! Looking forward to reading more! 🙂 Can't wait to get some wedding inspiration, I recently got engaged and am planning a wedding for this winter!
Love the black and whites photos.
The framed table numbers look great also!
It is great that you had a wonderful wedding week. Everything seems to be in place, free from any pressing concerns such as wedding gown alterations OC (for example) or inaccurate guest list. What you have shared can be an inspiration to other women who are also planning their weddings. Thanks for sharing.
