I realize this post has been a LONG TIME coming… and I am sorry for making you wait, but I wanted to be sure I could share as many of our #hellohappiness home paint colors as possible!!!
As I’ve been showing you room tours on Instagram as of late [check the Our Happy Home highlight for the full play-by-play], I’ve had so many of you requesting all the specifics in terms of all things PAINT. I know firsthand how difficult it can be picking just the right shade of white or finding that true navy blue and you want to get it right the first time.
For us, our incredible interior designer Kendall was hugely instrumental in helping select the perfect 31 flavors of Baskin Robbins [what our contractor called our house–haha!!] for every paint color throughout our home so I wanted to share our personal favorites that we incorporated in one easy to reference post. P.S. I’ve tried to include as many images of specific hues as well so you can see their true colors once complete.
Home Paint Colors
Home Exterior
Brick: Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17 + Shutters: Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze SW 7048
Exterior Door Color and Upstairs Deck Stain: Jacobean
Classic white but not too white… that’s what we wanted when we decided to transform our previously yellow brick into the white house I always wanted. It’s absolute PERFECTION and as timeless as possible. Then the pop of almost black shutters on our windows was another great staple color to select. We also opted to stain the upstairs porches and our front door with a darker wood in shade Jacobean. Another win for this not too dark, not too light stain.
Home Interior
Interior Rooms [Hallways, Family Room, Kitchen, Playroom, My Office, Bathrooms, Etc] | Sherwin Williams Pure White SW 7005
The majority of the interior of our house is painted white… yes, white. Sounds crazy I know, but it makes it so much brighter and happier and is definitely easier to clean in case you’ve got kiddos, too. We opted for Pure White from Sherwin Williams and I love it. No blue or beige undertones = simple and stunning and it definitely pops against all of that colorful, original art from Gregg Irby Gallery.
And yes, ONE single color for everything but in different sheens… we used Eggshell for the walls, Flat for the ceilings and Semi-Gloss for the trim throughout.
Kitchen Island – High-Gloss Lacquer, Sherwin Williams Gale Force SW 7605
Like I mentioned, we wanted a classic white kitchen, but I knew I needed some color for the large center island. Not only did we do navy blue, but we went with a high gloss hue to make it stand out and that’s exactly what it does. We also did brass inlay on the sides for extra pop and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. After all, navy is the new black and it corresponds perfectly with our Chevron Riviera Bar Stools and Girly Hanging Lanterns.
Downstairs Guest Bedroom| Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue No. 85
Calming and serene, this room is perfect for overnight guests who want to relax and rest up. A subtle pop of color against the otherwise white ceiling and trimwork, it’s a great neutral that’s anything but boring. And yes, that teardrop chandelier is purely FABULOUS.
Master Bedroom | Farrow & Ball Hague Blue No. 30
Even I took some convincing when it came to painting our master bedroom this bold color. Kendall sold me and promised me I’d be obsessed and she totally won me over with the dark navy hue. I think the fact that we painted the walls, ceiling and trim is what made this masterpiece work in our bedroom and I love it even more now. Perfect for a retreat in the comforts of home sweet home! Take a chance and it just might pay off in a big way…
Carson’s Room: Sherwin Williams First Star
The most subtle, serene pale gray ever… absolutely obsessed with this neutral color-no crazy blue/brown/green undertones and totally pops against the classic white trim. A great gender-neutral option for any room in your home!
Caroline’s Room: Benjamin Moore Frosty Pink
Oh the joys of painting a room pink. We used this color in Caroline’s nursery at our old house and loved it so much we continued it here. It is reminiscent of a ballet pink, with just a hint of girly glam and I absolutely love it! It’s calming and so sweet, perfect for any little lady’s boudoir.
