yes, the snow is here again friends… i can’t believe how much white powder tennessee has gotten this winter. i’m by no means a scrooge, but it makes it so hard for people to get around {obviously we don’t know how to drive in inclement weather} and i hate it for people who have to be out there in the treacherous conditions…however, i know it’s loads of fun for all the kids so i hope they enjoy their snow day!
lucky for me, i have a laptop that i can take home with me and i am SO glad i did this weekend, so this post is coming live from my kitchen island…complete with PJs, coffee, yummy mistletoe candle burning, the news on in the background, and plenty of pretty wintery landscape all around me. i finally tested out my new nikon this weekend, and this morning–capturing some pretty pictures outside our house–take a peek:
{and by NO means am i any kind of profressional photog–duh, but it’s so exciting to finally have a really nice camera}
even though the weather didn’t hit middle tennessee until late last night, jeff and i took it pretty easy for most of the weekend.
friday night, we grilled steak roll-ups for dinner and then divided out TV time so i could watch the new episodes of “say yes to the dress” and jeff could act like a gold miner and watch “gold rush” — and yes, he actually watches weird shows like that, bless his heart.
saturday morning, we hit up the gym and then met my parents at street tuxedo to select tuxedos for the wedding day–yay!! jeff selected a black calvin klein traditional tuxedo with classic black bowtie and a simple tone-on-tone pattern black vest with lace-up shoes…he looked so handsome and it made me realize just how fast wedding day is approaching. afterwards, we joined the parents at taco mamacita {aka dad’s fav place} for tacos and margaritas and then went and bought jeff’s wedding ring…a day all towards the groom, and yes, he loved every minute of it.
that night, meg and aaron came over to our place for pizza before we headed to bowl for hurt’s bday! we hadn’t been in ages and we had too much fun…especially once the lights went off and cosmic bowling commenced… fun times were had by all and we got to play with some long lost friends, which made it wonderful!! and p.s. let’s just say i DOMINATED the bowling lanes that night… hehe. afterwards, we got a wild hair and decided we just had to have some late night taco bell–thanks aaron for taking us…although never a good idea the next morning ;).
sunday, we relaxed at home for the most part, and i made a trip to target for some simple necessities for the week. i came home to make shrimp and wild rice casserole for dinner and made my dessert dish for tonight’s big national championship game–and yes, i will say it…
WAR EAGLE!
we are headed to rachel and ryan’s house this evening to watch the tigers go against those oregon ducks and of course my allegiance lies with the SEC all the way. friends of ours are actually out in arizona for the game and i know they are so exited about tonight’s festivities.
happy monday friends!!

Oh sweet friend, I love that snow! It was in the high 60's here all week…thank goodness for a torrential downpour that brought some cool weather…It now feels like January in Texas!
Are those dresses from Priscilla of Boston? I think we are wearing the darker shade of that dress for my best friend's wedding in July. It is nice to see them on someone instead of in a catalogue!
megan, yes, our bmaid dresses were POB–very comfy, but don't have any spillage of your drink on the dress until AFTER pics đ
jayme–didn't get a chance to make my breakfast goodie, but i will do it next weekend before jeff ventures off to costa rica so stay tuned for recipe =)
The pictures of the snow are gorgeous! Hope you're loving that camera. Wish we had a snow day like the rest of the south today!
Love the snow! We got a tad but last night but nothing like you guys are experiencing. Enjoy the game, yay for college football.
Woohoo! Go Auburn =)
