Investment pieces… that’s exactly what they are. I know I’m not a “collector” of many things, but I have grown quite attached to one type of designer item that I wear more than anything… sure, I love a good handbag and I splurge on one every now and then, but for me, my go-to accessory is a BELT.
Last year, I fell in love with one style specifically and now have three colorways in my growing belt collection from Valentino. The best part?? They are reversible so you’re actually getting two belts for the price of one. Now I will preface this and say I know they aren’t cheap and again they are an investment = but they’ve been a great purchase in that I can wear them with denim shorts, any type of jean and make a great way to cinch in the waist of dresses so the versatility is amazing, even with a higher price point.
Case in point… Here are a ton of ways I’ve styled my belts over the past few years:
I also purchased them in three separate sizes so that I can try different colorways depending on my outfit [or my mood].
- The smallest size [shown below in the white] measures at 3/4″ width. This duo combines white leather with a chocolate brown leather on the opposite side. This style has been my go-to for wearing with my denim shorts and a great way to cinch in an empire fit dress as well. I’m a 25 in denim so I ordered the 75″ size belt.
- The medium size [shown below in the pink] measures 1.25″ width and featured an adjustable buckle, goldtone hardware [another reason I love this brand] and it’s perfect for dressing up or down. I wear the pink style more in spring and summer, and then flip it over for a rich burgundy for fall and winter!
- And last but not least, the one I wear the most… the 1.6″ width belt. For all of you neutral lovers, this one is the epitome of classically chic with cognac brown leather on one side and then a staple matte black on the other. Starting with one?? This is where I would go!
