My favorite meal of the day?? BREAKFAST!! Honestly, we love it so much we eat breakfast a lot in our home for dinner and it’s one meal none of us get tired of. And yes, when it comes to places to eat here in Nashville, there are TONS of incredible destinations for breakfast + brunch… all scattered around town, so wherever you’re staying or venturing to, you’re sure to find somewhere sweet for the most important meal of your day.
Here’s a full look at some of my favorite places you’ll want to note:
Josephine | Absolutely delish… it’s become one of my go-to recommendations for people when they come visit. It’s moody and eclectic and fairly small in size, so I love the vibe even more. It’s also in 12 South, one of my fav local districts in Nashville so make sure to take advantage of all the shops after you eat!
Adele’s | Comfort food at its best, this one is conveniently located in the Gulch + offers a warm and relaxed concept with open air seating and great vibes for all… the food is delicious [def order the fried chicken] if you want to meet up with friends for a tasty brunch and the drinks are even better! It’s also walkable to lots of destinations downtown so wear some comfy shoes if you’re up for exploring…
Mockingbird | Another one of my personal favorites, they are known for their cocktails that come in a bag which are DELISH! A great option for when you want to order a handful of small plates for the table to share, that way you can sample everything on their menu = yes it’s all so darn good.
Merchants | A classic Nashville staple… this lively three-floor restaurant situated in the heart of downtown Nashville on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue = perfect people watching for those of you who want to partake. This former hotel serves as a Southern take on bistro food and it’s something everyone in your party can agree on.
Kitchen Notes | Another personal preference is this one… it’s located inside the Omni Nashville Hotel, in the heart of Sobro, it’s a farm-to-table staple. If you have a sweet craving for breakfast = be sure to order the Belgian Waffles or French Toast. The vintage interior is so adorable and this one is a great option for larger groups and parties, too.
Marsh House | Another great option located in the Gulch at the Thompson Hotel! The setting is chic and beautiful and the seafood is some of the freshest I’ve had… their seafood tower is always a win.
Henley | Next up is Henley where sociable Southern dining and impeccably crafted cocktails come together in Midtown… they feature a new American style menu, but a few twists and turns thrown in for good measure. DO NOT miss out on the rolls = carbs don’t count at brunch!
Monell’s | Another notable Nashville gem, it’s a spot located in Germantown that makes you feel like you are home in your mom’s kitchen. This is family style seating done right, so you will be seated at a large table with people that may not be in your personal party, but it makes the experience all about southern hospitality. This is your classic home cooking: fried chicken, biscuits + gravy and grits… so come on, grab a seat and pass the food to your left!
Ladybird Taco | Tacos for breakfast?? Why not??? 12 South brings us another winner with tacos AND coffee. Add in all the delicious toppings to your taco like scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, avocado, pico de gallo, and more… definitely a treat and a quicker fast casual place to try.
Buttermilk Ranch | WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER… a small batch bakery and day dining restaurant located in 12 South, they create everything from biscuits to waygu steak and eggs and I am here to tell you it’s ALL GOOD. Don’t have time to dine in? You can visit the walk-up counter and take some pastries to-go…
Sixty Vines | A staple at 5th and Broadway… it’s a vibe all on its own! Think tasty bites and wine bar = great for large groups and parties, the service, food, and wine is absolutely amazing! Just don’t miss out on the mushroom toast or any of the pizzas.
Liberty Common | This hip brunch restaurant & cafe serves burgers, hot chicken, waffles & frozen cocktails with an amazing view of downtown Nashville via 1st Avenue. Total southern comfort meets french classics on the menu, everything about it is so chic and great for those of you looking to take some pics, too.
Hampton Social | You might be familiar with the famous “rose all day” photo that many people post on Instagram after eating here. I have to admit, I was hesitant to go here because I thought it was just for tourists, but was pleasantly surprised at the expansive menu and just how good the food was! The cutest breezy hangout serving seafood & beach-themed cocktails all day everyday.
The Loveless Cafe | You can’t think of breakfast in Nashville without thinking of The Loveless Cafe. It remains unchanged in the quaint country charm and good cooking that has made it a landmark since its doors opened more than 50 years ago! Breakfast is available all day [my kind of restaurant for sure] and let me tell you the made-from-scratch biscuits are something you’ll never forget. Loveless is located in Bellevue so it’s off the beaten path and a quick scenic drive to a quieter part of Nashville, too.
