Happy Friday!!! I am anxiously counting down the hours until my best friends will be in town, gathering at my house for our girl’s Christmas weekend… and boy, what a weekend we have planned.
Tonight, we’re doing the ultimate girly slumber party! we’re getting dressed up in our pajamas {yes this what I am secretly most excited for} and everyone is bringing over appetizers and desserts and we’re cooking pizza! {diet going down the drain tonight}… then after dinner, we are going to watch our holiday favorites to include:
My favorite movie of all time… Love Actually: Let’s go get the shit kicked out of us by love”
Elf… ”the best way to spread christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear”
The Holiday… and of course “mr. napkinhead”
To top it all off, I will also be making Frozen Hot Chocolate {my recipe hails from Serendippity in NYC so it has to be good!!}… here’s how you make it:
Ingredients:
4 oz of your favorite chocolate (We like to use milk chocolate chips–4oz =about 1 cup)
2 teaspoons store-bought hot chocolate powder
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
3 cups ice cube
slightly sweetened whipped cream
chocolate shavings (optional)
Directions:
Chop chocolate into small pieces and melt in microwave on low heat
Once melted, add hot chocolate mix and sugar, stirring constantly until thoroughly blended
Remove from heat and slowly add 1/2 cup milk, stirring until smooth
Cool to room temperature
In blender, place the remaining 1 cup milk, room-temperature chocolate mixture and ice
Blend on high speed until smooth and the consistency of a frozen daiquiri. Enjoy!
(Makes about 4 8 oz. servings from one batch)
Tomorrow, we’re heading to the mall to get an angel from the Salvation Army Tree, and then we will buy all the presents!! This is something my family has done for years and I am so thankful that my friends want to spoil a little one who otherwise wouldn’t have Christmas presents.
Afterwards, in true Southerner style, we will gather around the TV and cheer on the Gators {I swear my family would disown me if I was cheering for Alabama} in the SEC Championship… no VOL matchup this year, but I’m betting we’ll be back in the mix soon enough thanks to Mr. Kiffin =)
For dinner, we made plans at a local hotspot–Lime–and then the ladies are hitting the town! I can’t wait to hit some of our favorite places that we haven’t ventured to in awhile… should be fun and I promise to take LOTS of pictures for all of you!!
Have a great weekend friends!!! OXOX
