Time Is On My Side

wedding

February 22, 2010

It’s February 22nd– WOW, is this month really almost over?? Although I’d like to say good riddens to everything associated with winter, time just seems to be passing me by lately and I have no recollection as to what all has been happening… oh wait, I’m growing up.
I just want to say a big THANK YOU to the big guy upstairs for this blessed weekend–it was 60 and sunny all weekend in Nashville and I think each and everyone of us in this city deserved it after the snow showers and rain that has consumed our lives for the past few months.
On Friday night, Jeff and I ate sushi at Zumi down in Hillsboro Village–for those that haven’t tried it, I think it’s like Pei Wei/Chipotle, but for sushi… you order and they bring it out to you and yes, they roll it fresh! I highly recommend the Black and Gold!! Afterwards, we went home and rented The Time Traveller’s Wife… not the highest rated movie on my list as it was REALLY hard to follow and not believeable, but still an entertaining movie–especially getting to see Mr. Eric Bana’s bootay =)
Saturday was the day I was dreading most because it meant long run day… after NOT buying a Garmin this weekend {I swear I cannot part with that much money on a watch}, I decided to run inside to save my frustrations–and though it was a stretch, I completed my 7 miles at a 10:13 pace and it felt amazing–I still have 2 more months of training, but I am ECSTATIC to say I am more than 1/2 way to my 13.1 mile goal and I’ve never felt stronger. That afternoon, we headed to the Home Depot to buy our master bedroom paint. Knowing what I wanted all along, I started having second doubts after Jeff said he was “fine” with whatever I chose {wrong answer fiance}, but I went with my gut and I LOVE our paint color… it’s called Porpoise and its by Behr!!
That night, we celebrated Jeff’s boss/best man’s 40th birthday at their plantation in Brentwood–they had the most fun party–live music, catered apps and drinks {and yes, I said no to drinks and stayed true to my Lent devotion}. It was great to be able to celebrate with Tom on his big day, complete with lots of friends and family.
Tom and Julie last year for the UT/GA game–we just love them
On Sunday, we went to church, {more on that later because we have some exciting news!!}, had brunch, and then Meg and I met my Mom at the Frist for the Perfect Wedding Guide’s Bridal Show… this proved to be more valuable than the last event my Mom and I ventured to and we were able to make lots of contacts with possible florists and caterers, too! A successful afternoon to say the least!!
And as an FYI, I want to give my apologies to all my blog friends out there. I have been a MAJOR slacker recently and I have not been using my old faithful Canon … I am a visual person and I MUST see pictures so I will be better about capturing day to day events and activities =)
  1. What a great weekend! I have been wondering about Time Travelers Wife…it looks hard to follow! Yay for your 7 miles…thats awesome!

  3. Sarah Mina says:

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I totally know what you mean about the Time Traveller's Wife being hard to follow. Luckily I had read the book beforehand but I felt like the movie left out a lot of stuff. And yay for new bedroom paint!

  4. Sarah Wyland says:

Sounds like you had a great weekend! It was BEAUTIFUL in Knoxville and I lamented being stuck inside on a power weekend. Oh the joys of being an RA!

  5. Caroline says:

I love this color. What other colors are you using?

  6. That paint color is to DIE for! Very modern and zen-like – you have such wonderful taste, my dear!

  7. Brittany says:

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Lucky for you and the 60 degree weather! I can't wait for Spring 🙂

  8. LG says:

Love your paint color! Our bedroom is grey as well and we have been really pleased with it! Calico corners (in greenhills) has great fabric to go with that color as well!
Also curious if you have heard of the "Fit Bit"? Thinking of getting one for my hubby since he is a big runner
